Tiller Best heavy duty 3pt tiller?

I too have been looking at the ccm tillers. Their sr line seems pretty beefy for the price. Direct drive too.
CCM SR 185 is a 72" tiller with a 100 HP gearbox and weighs 1110 LBS- The CCM tillers are Gear driven with no chains to adjust or break! $2,800

Where are the ccm tillers made?
What rpm does the tiller turn at 540 pto rpm?
Will a Kubota L3240 be enough tractor to pull a SR185 if you go slow enough?
Is there any warranty?
Is there any where on the net to see a full specs page on the ccm tillers?

Thanks,

I don't know about "Best" tiller , or "Best tiller that money can buy".
I have a 6ft KK II all gear tiller that I have not (yet) damaged or broken a tine on in rocky New England soil - FWIW, etc.
Rationale; Reviews here and price, I got it as a manager's special at TSC for $119x.xx

It jams on rocks that are too big to pass over the tines, but are light enough to pick up or that get jammed between tines. Don't they ALL ?
A 4ft 2x4 lever to turn it backwards works fine and I'm ready to roll again.
Since it is forward rotating the power to it tends to push the tractor, there is probably a ground speed at which it would just skip across the ground, but I havn't found that gear yet.

I had a Kuhn tiller that I used behind my MF 1433; it worked great but I did break it quite a bit...I was the second owner of it and it was kind of beat when I got it so...?

I just bought a KKII 6-foot model at TSC for $1,800 + to go behind my new 1552 and I'm hoping that will serve me better...

That's a pretty impressive tiller - 1,100lbs. I could use that for ballast, too!! :D

Are they quick-hitch compatible with a JD hitch or others?

Thanks.

It looks like it has only 4 tines per rotor......6 would be better, but love the fact she weighs over 1/2 a ton!

True enough.. How many tines on the Kuhn?

LandPride makes some very good implements. (And the price certainly reflects that, too!)

I've got an older, JD 5' tiller. Always thinking of getting a bigger unit.

On the Kuhn 72inch 53/190 they have 6 tines per/ on 8 rotors....48 total tines.....

Not an expert by any means, as I have only used two brands: A Yanmar 5 ft and King Kutter II 5 ft. The Yanmar is very quiet, somewhat light in weight, utilizing a 4 blade tine design. Consequently, the 4 blades cause it to bounce and vibrate quite a lot if the soil is hard. Plus the tines are thin and not too strong, and tines can be broken on submerged rocks and tree roots, etc. The Yanmar digs deeper, probably a foot or more.

The King Kutter is my favorite. It has a 6 blade tine design, is probably 250 pounds heavier, and cuts very smooth, with very little bouncing or vibration. Its a little noisier. 7 1/2 inches is probably nearing its limit of depth. The tines are thicker, wider and very durable. Never broke any of those. But then again, to be fair, I never hit the same things I did with the Yanmar. I suspect however, that the KK tines would not have broken.

If I was buying new, King Kutter II hands down. But, Yanmars can be bought for about $1000. or less, and I think that tines are fairly plentiful on the market. A KK 5 ft can be bought for $1400 to 1600 if you shop.

Kind of a lurker here.till lot of gardens in spring average proably 225 of them plus till quite a bit for my self have had 4 rtr 25-70 land prides and still have 1 for a back up,good machine have had problems with chain drive and eats tines too quick for me have only ever used factory tines maybe should have tryed aftermarket.Primary tiller now is a mashio b 180 which if i remember correctly is 180 centimeters wide or roughly 6 ft,weighs almost 1400lbs run it behind a M 5700 what i really like is its durability and it only goes through 1 set of tines a season.I would go through 2 plus on the landpride in that time.I do know that Kuhn and old howards are good too though just thought mashio was little better when i bought it 3 years ago.Jerry
