We are just getting started with our KK 6'; so far flawless performance. I looked at some "off brand" for several hundred cheaper; wasn't happy with the thinner tines. Very pleased with what we got.
Prices :( have went up considerably here on the left coast, ours was in the 2100. range

Kind of a lurker here.till lot of gardens in spring average proably 225 of them plus till quite a bit for my self have had 4 rtr 25-70 land prides and still have 1 for a back up,good machine have had problems with chain drive and eats tines too quick for me have only ever used factory tines maybe should have tryed aftermarket.Primary tiller now is a mashio b 180 which if i remember correctly is 180 centimeters wide or roughly 6 ft,weighs almost 1400lbs run it behind a M 5700 what i really like is its durability and it only goes through 1 set of tines a season.I would go through 2 plus on the landpride in that time.I do know that Kuhn and old howards are good too though just thought mashio was little better when i bought it 3 years ago.Jerry

Does your b180 tiller have the 4 speed gearbox? if so how do you change speeds? where did you get the b180 and how much money does one cost? how much did a set of tines for the b180 cost? I do about 100 gardens a year and need a very strong tiller.

I was wondering which 3pt tiller to purchase last year and read all the posts presented here. After reading lots of posts my conclusion was the KK 6' tiller would be the best choice for me. I would use mine 2-3 times a year on 5 acres of sandy/clay soil in Florida. The KK works really well and accomplishes everything I want it to and the price was not sky high. My recommendation is first decide what kind of soil you plan to attack and how much will you use it. Next, how much to you want to spend? The KK reportedly does well on rocky ground and I know it does well in FL soil and is in a price range that is affordable. I do not believe spending 2-4K would buy me a tiller that would be any better than the one I purchased.

I'm begining to think you are right.. The kk tiller seems like a best bang for the buck choice. Where is the kk tiller made (I know it is italy) but who is the manufactor?

I was looking a ccm tillers but I'm a little worried about them being made in Turkey. It seems all the high quality tillers are made in Italy.

Also is your kk a 6 tine or 4 tine? How is the wear on the tines so far?

Thanks

I've run Land Pride, KK Maschiao and Howard.
You couldn't give me a KK or LP. We plant a lot of plow down crops and the KK and LP always wrap tall cops around the tines and rotor shaft.

The Maschiao and the Howard never do. I attribute this to tooth design. L shape teeth cut and bury better in my opinion and the Howard and Maschiao teeth outlast the others 3 to 1 in sandy and gravely soil

If your serious about tilling get one with multi speed gear box. Then you can adjust ground speed and tiller speed to your conditions.

Heres the latest one we drug home

My tiller is a KK 5'. I tilled a new garden plot this year out of slightly rocky, clay based virgin prairie. It tore that stuff right up into potting soil consistency. I then added loads of composted cow manure with the big tractor then tilled it in again. Dry, hard clumps of composted material were no match. I did a lot of shopping before buying the KK and decided it is the best bang for the buck. Not that it's maybe the best machine made, but best bang for the buck. Mine was $1275.00 brand new 2 weeks ago.
