Best mid size tractor to buy

My mahidra 3510 isn't cutting it with the overheating.

Have you identified the reason for overheating? What type of work are you doing when it overheats? I'm not aware that that brand or model has a problem in general. Keeping the radiator screen clean?

Have you considered a larger tractor?:D

The term "Mid Sized" could be a little deceiving depending on perspective!:D

Man that's a loaded question. Everyone will jump in and claim "their" brand as the best due to loyalty.....obviously JD and Kubota are the two biggest brands, but I wouldn't say the best. There really is no best, it's personal preference. You could go buy another mahindra and it could be the best machine ever. Or not.
I've read countless threads about what the best machine is and again, it boils down to personal preference. Kubota and JD have the biggest market out there, and the most dealers, but that in itself in no way makes them the best.
Find a good dealer close to you is probably very important. Try out different brands. I've had Cub Cadets for years, and NEVER had a problem with them. Other people have had big problems with them, and their reputation has been tarnished by various practices. I have 3 Cub Compacts, and love em. My Cub 7532 will outperform the JD 4310 all day long, in my opinion, because I've operated them both.
Bottom line; asking what is the best mid size tractor here is is the same as which pickup should you buy.....ford/gm/dodge.......which TV.......sony/toshiba/sanyo, etc.etc.

You'll get an opinion from every brand owner. Coobie's advice is sound. Go try the different machines, list your particulars what you want the machine to do, and take your time trying/enjoying/buying.
Good luck and have fun shopping!

Coobie and scoutcub are right. You have to try them and price them for yourself and find the one that fits you best. And it is true that the most popular ones are not always the "best" ones, even if the have more posts in their forum.

I couldn't help myself, I had to crow about red when I saw the post about green.:D

These kinds of threads can (and DO) run on forever!!

Islandtractor and Egon have good points -- what are you doing with your tractor? And what do "you" consider to be a mid-sized tractor?

Your current tractor may/may not be the problem and another, larger Mahindra might just be the solution.

Best of luck.

I have a few mid size farms that I own and manage for wildlife. Anytime I run the PTO its a given to overheat. I have had it services and checked last year. I carry my air compressor around with me its that bad. I bought it home the other day and used high pressure hose ect...only to have it go into red zone as soon as I started with a disc. I have checked and filled the fluid, I am **** about cleaning the grills and radiator, if its the thermastat I would only say the tech missed it during the checkup.

What are you running on the PTO? Is the tractor's PTO HP too little for it??

Are others in the Mahindra forum having the same problem with their 3510's? If not, then it's probably not a design issue. Have you taken your case to Mahindra? They might give you your best deal toward a different one. Or will make it right in another way.

Unless you are using oversized implements or running in too high a gear range both of which could cause overheating, it does seem like there is something wrong with your specific tractor. I think we'd have heard a lot of complaints (which we haven't) about the 3510 if this was a general issue with that model.
