Best mid size tractor to buy

In my opinion and many others, judgeing by resale value, the best mid-size tractors are the "big 2": John Deere and Kubota. That said, I have heard of several complaints from Kubota owners about overheating, but none from JD, so green would probably be your best bet. To be fair, these might be isolated incedents affecting only certain models, and the odds are also very good that you would not have a problem with an orange tractor. I cant make my 43 hp JD run hot even while cutting thick bush all day long in the summer with a 6 ft cutter and a radiator screen that could use cleaning.

The only overheating I've heard of with kubota is when owners didn't know they need to clean the radiator screen. Happened to me ONCE. That isn't a problem just simple maintenance.

I own a JD 850, a Kioti DK45s, and a Case IH JX80. All of these tractors have performed flawlessly. I do not "baby" my tractors, I use them for what they were made for.........hard work. So, as far as "best" goes I'd have to say all of them are the best. There is not a "best" tractor out there, just alot of brands that make their owners very happy. You just have to sift through them all and find the one that is "best" for you. My $.02

What is the best mid size tractor on the market today that will not OVERHEAT and can be relied upon. I stay on my tractor religiously with maintanence and am ready to move on to another model...My mahidra 3510 isn't cutting it with the overheating.
There is no such thing as the best tractor for everybody; just the best one for you.

your 3510 only has 28 PTO HP - I have to wonder what kind of ground engagement equipment you're pulling with it as well. 6' mower or tiller may be more than it will comfortably handle for long periods of time where a 4110 or other higher HP unit would be more suited.
Have you talked to the Mahindra folks there in Hutch to see if they have any ideas what's going on?
If yes and no satisfaction, either on finding a solution or trading up to a bigger unit, have you looked at the Kioti DK45 - also available there in town for you?
What kind of price range are you able to handle?
A MF 2605 might also work pretty well, but it's probably going to cost half again more than what you gave for the 3510. (how many hours does it have and did you change filters when you changed fluids?)

Also have a 3510 and have punished it. Have run it hard in this South Texas heat, and never had a heating problem, except when the radiator gets plugged. Found out by just popping the hood the radiator looks very clean. Shine a light through it and you can see if it is plugged up. Wash it with garden hose and nozzle. Air pressure does not work that well. I am not a know it all, just experienced the problem you are having, fought the overheating problem for 2 weeks, had washed it , did not know what to do, until I used the bright flashlight and saw how plugged it was. It is a little bit difficult to wash, but it works wonders once the full area of the radiator is clean. Have a good friend that wanted to trade in his 2810 because of overheating, the shop found the radiator plugged like mine was, cleaned it, no more problems, his cost $70, mine, needed to water the grass anyway. I wash it about every 4 months.

One other thing you may want to check is the radiator cores. I had a brand new Ford truck run hot on me everytime I got above 70MPH. Thermostat was good, antifreeze / water mix was good. I even removed the thermostat and it still would run hot. Finally I drained out the coolant and noticed that there was a white residue "growing" around the cores in the top tank. I took it to a radiator shop and had it boiled out and rodded out and no more problem. I dont know if the water was contaminated at the factory or what but it appeared to be some kind of calcium deposit. I would wash out the cores from front and back with a water hose AND compressed air and double check the internal water circulation, make sure the fan belt is properly tensioned and maybe even remove the thermostat temporarily to see if it overheats without a t-stat before I went for a new tractor. I just cant believe that you are overloading it to make it overheat as long as you arent lugging down the RPM.

take your time when seriously looking, go talk to the dealers and check out the tractors, ask a lot of stupid questions and look them over real good. see what the deere and newhollands have standard and then go look at the mahindra and kiotis. i did and settled on the kioti not because its built better but because for the money i was getting a better buy, the kioti is cheaper in price only, but heavier made, now you'll hear from th deere guys and holland or mf guys and they swear by thier brand but for the money you'll get more bang for the buck in a kioti. kioti is trying to make a name for its self, john deere and newholland has already made a name for thierselves, and you will pay more for that name too, but thats just my opinion

I have to agree with jda1961. Kubota, JD and MF are selling their tractors for $5K more for the same HP and much less in amenities than Kioti and Montana. Add on prices are outrageous just to get their tractors up to what comes standard on others.

Your tractor should not be overheating.. it should make full rated pto hp all day.

if it won't.. check out it's cooling system... something ain't right..

Look at the tractors. Read the reviews. Ask all of the aforementioned dumb questions.
In the end I bought a blue tractor for all those reasons, but maybe more important was the feed back I got about the dealers that are in this area. I did not consider tractors without a dealer within 40-50 miles. Without listing the colors of all the other dealers within this range, I will say that the feedback was for many of them very negative. I had dealt with the Orange tractor dealer a few years back for a chainsaw purchase. He is so grumpy, I never even looked at Orange tractors. And the farmers in the area who I spoke with, who had bought newer tractors in the last few years all listed the blue tractor dealer's very positive reputation as a major factor in their decision to buy blue. And I like my Tc35A, it has been great. The dealer is pleasant and I trust them.
Tractors breakdown, need parts and have warranty issues. A dealer that you trust and can stand to deal with is a big plus. There are clearly fans of all of the brands that continue to be in the business of building and selling tractors, or they would be out of business.
Be practical, you may need a dealer.
