I have a Kubota B2920 and thanks to all the rain my fence is pushed over out back. What is a decent PHD? I would like the best value not the cheapest. Thank you!

Donn, if you're only going to use a PHD occasionally, even a "rude and crude" one like I bought at Tractor Supply a long time ago will probably last forever. If you have very hard or rocky soil or figure to go into the fencing business, maybe a better grade PHD would stand up to hard duty, but otherwise, most all of them work about the same.

I was thinking about the TSC unit - looks pretty good!

Most PHD now a days use "Comer" or other Chinese gear boxes. With the exception of probably "Danuser and Beefco".
I think those TSC PHD are Speeco's.
Some auger lenghts 42" others 48".
TSC PHD come shipped dry,so whichever or whatever PHD you go with always check oil level(80/90) regardless of what dealer or salesman/woman tells you !
Make sure unit complete before you leave place of purchase(pins, pto shaft, guide bar if equip for one, protective covers, etc).

I bought the county line from TSC - cant beat it for $420! I also got a 9 and a 12 inch auger. It seems well built enough for everything I will need it to do (I will not be earning a living with it).

You might also consider renting a PHD, unless you foresee more usage in the future.

I just sold my TSC/Speeco that I have had used on larger tractors than I am using now. It is a perfectly fine nice PHD, but it does not fit my current JD 2520 CUT - I could never get it high enough out of the ground the way I wanted. This is due to the curved boom end. I have purchased the ETA (nice folks from my experience and I am in NC) Compact PHD - it is now on its way. Nowadays, there are several PHD on the market that best fit CUTs. Scott H.

I bought a Land Pride with my B2920 (smallest one, PD10) and have quickly learned I 1.) they are way overpriced, and2) the smallest one doesn't dig deep enough (factory auger). I now wish I had went ahead and got the TSC model....unless your doing commercial work or fencing 1000 acres, it plenty stout, and a heck of a lot cheaper.

Scottrh, which ETA PHD did you choose for your JD2520?

I also have a JD2520 and was already to buy the TSC/Speeco until I read about your plight and others on another thread. Since then I've been looking at the ETAs but they have so many models I'm not sure which would be the best fit? I'm leaning toward the 6900HD so that I could use an 18" auger if I wanted too and it is also a bit more rugged.

If I could roll the clock back to when I choose my JD2520 I would probably have made a different decision and either stepped up to the 3000 series or bought the Ford or Massey. The 2520 is very sturdy but they tried so hard to put big tractor features on a small tractor that they created a few problems, starting with that you need a quick hitch to use a brushhog otherwise the front of the brush hog rubs on the rear tires. You can't put chains on the front tires at all because of lack of cleareance with the steering linkage and you must turn your tire rims inside out to gain enough clearance to mount chains on the rear. The original hitch arms rubbed on the rear tires until they came out with redesigned arm in 2009. Now I find out that some post hole diggers like the Speeco Heavy Duty or the TSC won't work because of lack of clearance with the top link and ROPS mount. And to think I bought a John Deere so that I wouldn't have problems like that. I might as well have bought a NorCo or a Mahindra???

As always I've done a lot of research.
Agri-supply has had the best bang for the buck for new IF you are near enough to pick it up.
Sweet and Everything Attachments are good alternatives.
Craigs list seems to have lots of "hardly used" but totally rusted out units.

Leinbach is in East Bend, NC just outside of Winston-Salem. I bought one of their 7300 models last year. Nice unit.

I picked up a Leinbach L-7200 unit at the local equipment auction last week. Nice unit. It is a used one and still works great. I looked at the ETA video and the PHD lineup. I Believe that the ETA PHD is a rebadged Leinbach. But I could be wrong too. At the moment it is leaning against an old trailer. I plan on sinking posts and bolting a crosspiece on it and hang it with a chain. Just trying to figure out the dimensions to use.
Good luck

Kioti Tom you are correct in fact if you go to Leibachs website and click on "How to Buy" their link redirects you to the Everthing Attachments website. I think they are the same company. ETA also has free shipping. from NC to VT or anywhere within 1000 miles.
