Rear Blade Best Rear Blade ?

That's an incredible looking blade with really easy adjustments. What about the cost? Anyone know if there is a Canadain (East Ontario) dealer?

I know we have one very close to us here in Edmonton, AB....so they do retail in Canada. Good luck. If you get hold of them, I'd be very interested to know the CDN $$ you are quoted.

knight9 - when ofsetting the blade swinging it around is actually easier - you just use the "short" end to clear the tires as you swing. Mine can swing either way and when not offset I have to have it rasied at kust the right height in order to clear the tires. If it were offset I'd have an extra foot of clearance on the "short" side.

...ok, then that must be blade specific because IF my blade was capable of being offset, it would depend which way I had it offset as to whether or not I could turn it around. My Farm King blade will only turn around one direction. It will completely swivel around 180 degrees, but can only do so one way. Apparently that is not always the case, so I guess the next issue would be to ensure that any blade that can be offset can be turned around either way.

yep, that makes sense - I can go 360 deg and turn it in either direction, may not be the case for all.

The cost of the Blade is a bit high. I called ACGroff, a dealer in New Holland, Pa today. The cost of a GB1-60 which is a 5ft blade is $599.00. The blade is the best blade, that I've seen so far. I defend John on that point, and that's what I asked for. I just can't put $600 in a blade, so my search has gone to a good cheaper priced blade. I'm assuming that Bush Hog, Woods, and Land Pride are back in the running. The price is between $300-$400. I still want good quality, and durability. Thanks to all who have tried to help. Kent

If you don't already subscribe to Lancaster Farming, it might be a good idea for the ads. I've got some deals on impliments in PA that were worth me driving from WV. They have the largest equipment related ad section for your area.

That and some patience on your part could get you the blade you want at the price you want.

I inquired about Monroe's boxblades a few weeks ago. The prices I was quoted are at work, although I think I posted them here somewhere, but they were much more than I expected. They were considerably more than Woods, LandPride, etc..

Of course the dealer I was talking to got his prices from the a distributor in New Holland PA. Maybe the middleman pushed the prices up. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
