Best rear tire filler for cold weather

In an ideal world the best material to fill tires with is air. Then hang cast iron weights on both sides of the tire.

Not everyone is like you and employed at a nuclear plant. My vote would to install propylene glycol (PG) with H20.

If you need-want to get more than a few hundred pounds of weight in-on the tires, cast iron just won't do it. I have 3 times the recommended wheel weights on my tractor, on the inside also. For my tractor anyway, I needed much more weight, liquid along with the cast iron was the answer for me and my circumstances.

Well, Rimgard is rated for -35 degrees. So either it was colder than that or someone watered down your mix. If you knew that it gets colder than that where you live, then I would say that you should have done some research and not let your dealer use what he used. You'll have a hard time getting wheel weights to weigh as much as the liquid. A 45%water 55% anti freeze will get you down to -50.

I agree here -- It was -15 here and I have rimguard. No problems. Either it was colder then you thought or it was watered down or not really a rimguard brand.

If as MtnViewRanch stated that rimguard is good to -35 and it hasn't been colder than that AND it froze, I would go back on that dealer and have him replace it (after draining the old stuff) under warranty. Not many places in the states get below -35F, at least not for an appreciable time.

it won't be the first time i've heard of a dealer diluting addatives or diluting product.

we had a termite / pest co here that did slad bretreats.. and they caught them diluting the pretreat material down...

Also interesting as you can see a frost line on side wall where the fluid level is.

I had this discussion a couple weeks ago here. I brought up the fact that my line showed 4" below the top of the wheel so I was thinking I got short changed on the fill. Curious to know where your line shows. At least my tires are riding square....ah circle... I mean correctly.

most places that liquid ballast tires go for 75-90% fill... depends on tire make / size and profile as to how much you can fill them.. however an air bubble IS needed.. if not you can rupture the tire too easilly.

ok so I have had my tractor 5 years , this fall I notice my back tires are low, how do you get water/antifreeze in the tires? front tire has a leak .do you just put air in the front? I live in the south so it doesn't get that cold
