Best RK Tractor for 37 Acre property? 10 acre field, 25 acre woods

I have a 40 horsepower LS, which is roughly the same size and weight as the RK37. The only time power has ever been even a slight issue is with PTO implements if I try to go too fast. Based on your description of what your land and what you want to do, the RK 37 has plenty of power and might be a more manageable size when maneuvering in the woods. Height also matters a lot when working around trees with low branches, so you might consider skipping the cab option if you think it could get damaged in those woods. Grappling and moving heavy rocks and logs suggests the stronger loader of the RK55 might come in handy, but as others have said, be careful on any kind of slopes, load the rear tires, use enough rear ballast, and GO SLOWLY. You can maim or kill yourself very quickly with an overloaded, unstable tractor. As a final note, I shopped around for my LS XG3140, which I wound up buying from a dealer in North Carolina, and with the tractor, 6-foot brush hog, forks, and a trailer, it was less expensive than the RK would have been without the trailer. So there are better deals than the RKs out there if you really look and are willing to drive for it.

Most of the time when someone damages a tractor, they are using it in a way it was not designed to do. Some people try to use them as a bulldozer and wonder why pistons, and loader arms bend or break. These machines are not 90 hp skid steers.

I was looking at the RK55 as well up until I pulled the trigger on an MX5800 yesterday. Looking at MSRP is misleading, because the RK is already listed at the price you will pay, while the other dealers will come down considerably from MSRP. Also, if you plan to finance like I did, the 7% interest rate for an RK will cost you about $5k over a 5 year loan. I took advantage of the 0% for 5 years from Kubota, which allowed me to get a tiller, box blade, 2 rear remotes, top n tilt kit, canopy, and pallet forks for nearly the same price it would have been for the RK55 HST Open cab alone.

IMO, If you are wanting a cab, that's when the RKs really pull ahead in value as Kubota, JD, etc all charge a premium on their cab models in comparison.

Just my 2 cents after completing my search recently. Good luck!

I have a mahindra 2538 ,It is the same tractor as the rk 37 . I use it on our 360 acres and i love it. It is perfect in the woods. But if price was no concern i would go with the rk 55. The Ls xr 41oo series should also be looked at lots of tractor for the money.

One reason I got my LS. $31k with third function, cab, loader, radio and loaded tires. Much more lift capacity at both the 3 PH and FEL than any thing else within about $10k. Neither RK or Kioti were options due to dealer distance. I also thought the RK was very worthy machine.

I'm on ~40 acres. 10 acres of pasture, 30 acres of woods with mild rolling hills. Looked at both and bought the 55. It's definitely a large tractor compared to the 37 size category. I've used every bit of the wider FEL bucket, and have lifted the larger ballasted tires while trying to fork objects out of the ground. At the same time, you've got to make your trails a little wider to accommodate the tractor compared to the 37, but that just makes better trails :-D

Picked up the hydrostat cab model. Love LOVE the cab - especially when spinning the rotary cutter out back - pleasantly quiet, and nice and cool. Just have to be careful in the woods (go slow - have good spatial awareness!!) and make sure you're being extra generous when you're cutting back low hanging branches. I'd recommend buying a pole saw at the same time if you're buying a cab tractor to use near woods. I need to get one myself.

I will say that it would be hard to go wrong with either the 37 or 55 with properly sized implements and expectations. So far, I haven't had a job that the 55 couldn't handle.

We invite any potential RK Tractor buyer to get quotes for comparably-equipped tractors of other brands before deciding if we offer the best price. Be sure to look at what comes standard on both brands, right up to the RimGuard liquid ballast in all RK37 and above sold with a loader. We think that it will be a rare instance when we are beat. The reason we are able to sell for low prices is that unlike our competitors, we don't sell to dealers, we sell to tractor users. For example, LS Mtron makes tractors for New Holland and CaseIH. New Holland and CaseIH North America sells those tractors to New Holland and CaseIH dealers. Those dealers then sell them to tractor users. We buy our tractors from TYM, same manufacturing economy (cost) as LS, and then we sell them directly to tractor buyers. We choose to explain so potential buyers don't think our low prices mean cheap, low spec tractors. In fact, it is because of the way we buy and sell that we can put all of the options in the base. So, yes, we think we can beat our competitors on price, quality and standard features. Once in a while a competing dealer may choose to sell a tractor at a lower than usual price. When that does occur, it is for reasons of a specific dealer for a specific tractor, not the brand as a whole offering low prices. RK Tractors are priced the same every day, everywhere they are sold. We have found that our customers prefer to know that they got the best price. We are doing things differently.

I think it's pretty simply, you are cutting out the middle man (dealers) so the consumer is saving money on the dealer markup as well as the added standard equipment that isn't standard on dealer sold brands.. The way I see it is, if you have a decent service network, RK will succeed..

No they're not. They're adding a middle man(person) and one that has MUCH higher overhead than most TYM dealers do. Plus adding the branding/labeling and doing the assembly and transportation all adds costs. I showed my price to the OP to prove I beat their price by quite a bit. And since they flat refuse to 'dicker' on pricing or packages, you'll find many others that have beat their prices and true by going with true dealers.

You may have beat their price for one reason or another, it was probably because they couldn't sell you're tlb to anyone else but you.. You trash these guys any chance you get.. You have no interest in RK and never did, you're negativity doesn't help anyone..
