I'm not Oleozz, but send a PM to DieselPower or visit his webpage (linked from his profile) and he will help you from there. He's a distributor for TRC, and extremely knowledgeable and helpful on these forums.

Change it often enough and you dont need to worry about " the acids"!
If that's the route you choose. I prefer the better oil

Its definately the route I use. Ive watched FARRR too many farmers..still using tractors made back in the 1950's still working them every summer. Good oil...changed on a proper basis along with a good filter and full grease job. Life's empiricial data base proves it to me there is no "mystery" in oils...and that plain old "dinosaur fat" has worked and will continue to work as long as mankind walks the earth!

Wonder why all the high end auto makers, motorcycle makers, atv makers etc, etc, have switched to synthetic & spec it in their manuals when it's time to change the oil instead using & rccommending the use of good ol dinosaur fat ?? Are they just not as smart as some  ? Or, mabe their just wasting their & the people that buy their products money:eek:

A large portion of what drives manufacturers in the selection of lubricants for their products these days is fuel economy. Every 1/10th of a MPG they can save using a better lubricant get's them that much closer to meeting MPG standards.

Manufacturers don't really make that much more if any more money off modern synthetic replacement lubricants than they did with older technology lubes. Look at the drain intervals compared to days gone by. It wasn't uncommon in the past to have trans and rear gear intervals of 25-50K, now day's many are at the 250K+ change interval. There is a larger initial investment in the lube but in the life of the component the final cost of lubricants is actually less because it is changed less often.

OEM manufacturers also are concerned about warranty claims, both for things that are their fault and things that aren't. Look up "Toyota engine sludge" for a good example of something that combines a design issue with a user lack of maintenance issue. Specing synthetic oil helps to hold off any failures longer, often past the warranty period.

I'm not saying synthetics are bad in any way - as I posted earlier, I'm putting synthetic Rotella-T in my tractor ASAP. I'm just saying that for a typical user, the ultimate premium lubricant may not actually make any difference in their use. I don't hear about many tractors wearing out their engines, and when I hear about final drive issues it is usually a design defect rather than a lubrication failure.

Very easy to explain! Firstly "they" are taking "midget" sized motors and running the living "pee" out of them RPMwise to get the HP. ANY ..repeat ..ANY engine thats "required" to operate at a constant "higher" RPM to get its power..SHOULD BE running an oil that if its not SYN oil...should be very close to the lubricating ability that SYN oil can do for a guy.

A) When was the last time you saw a 450 cu inch BMW motor??
B) When was the last time you saw a new tractor ( diesel of course) that developed its HP and torque at LOWER RPM's???

Add a turbo on top of the "mini motor's" to get more HP and you only make matters worse ( for the oil that is)

My own "toy tractor" ( as my friends call it) develops its power at 2700 RPM. My motorhome engine ( Cummins) delivers MAX torque at 1400. See any difference? And Cummins flats states that using SYN oil in their engines is a waste of $$ because you need to change the oil at the intervals specified..period!

Ive NEVER said a person SHOULD NOT use SYN motor oils...SOME "need" what a syn oil can give them..because they are running the coon dog CRA* out of their equipment and otherwise it wouldnt last. MOST of us dont "abuse" an expensive "tool" to that degree and with proper interval maintainence the tractor ( in these cases) is going to last longer than the owner most probably!

Extended oil changes? *raspberry*! If Im THAT PRESSED for "time" that I CANT change oil close to the prescribe time / usage interval...I'll hire some $10 an hour dude to change oil and filters for me! Ya dont need a guy with a college degree to do that!

SYN oils ARE NOT some "magic device" that gives "eternal life"..proper maintainence is
