Best way to mount hydralic hookups for grapple

Mine is set up a bit different, it can be a pain at times;

If I was to redo it I'd be tempted to mount it sideways.

For dirt contamination/spillage while using the loader? I thought about that and may change up.

Sideways to make it easier to reach and push in to latch, that has the spring loaded flaps to keep most of the dirt out when not in use. But, I still grab a can of brake clean or WD when I'm going to use them, spray and wipe out and off.
