BH65 Continous usage

I was working on a seemingly normal stump yesterday with the bh65 on my b2920. It turns out that the roots for this stump were massive and hard to get in and dig. Well I finally got it out, it was big! However I looked at my watch and realized I had been working on it for two hours. It was about 50 degrees out yesterday. What are the chances that I ran it too long with much of a break?

that was FUNNY! most i laughed in quite a while.

to the OP, you didn't work it too hard. i run a wood splitter off my kubota tractor hydrolics and i have run it for up to 8 hours straight before with no ill effects. the hoses feel warm but never hot. i assume your b2920 is hst and has a hydrolic cooler too, so keep on digging.:thumbsup:

Probably none, but kudos to your perseverance and determination in achieving an end goal. That's the way to do it! :thumbsup:

By the picture, I am not sure when you actually cut the tree. I have found that there is a much faster way to remove stumps. Leave the tree on it and use that weight and leverage to pop the stump out of the ground. That way, you only have to dig about half of the stump out before you give the tree a push with the backhoe or the FEL and down she goes. I have alot of clay down about 4 to 5 feet so this works out well for me. Be careful out there.

This assumes that A.) you can be certain of which way the tree "wants" to fall based on the distribution of branches up above, and B.) the tree does not kick out when it falls. Just need to be aware of the potential risks.

Have used many times; only variation is that I de-limb the tree and cut the head off about 10-15 feet up
Tie truck to the top of the tree and pull slowly, leverage does the hard work for you...

I guess you wouldn't get to play with the hoe as much though

I also use the same method on some trees. Except, i do not de-limb. I usemy truck and a heavy rope and add pressure to the tree. Once I dig a while, boom, comes right out!

But again...be aware and careful!!
