For the most part, yes. If you do decide to put a grapple or 4-in-1 on your FEL, then use a solenoid
diverter, or install a manual spool valve with PB in the series of valves.

The way My GL3130 is done, you unhook the power beyond hose coming from the loader hook up to backhoe and then backhoe dumps into the tank and the rear remotes and three point are unhooked and dead.

Put a WR Long 3rd function solenoid valve on the loader for the grapples.

I have the BH92, originally on an MX5100 and now the L5740 cab. Having it around is very useful, and once you learn how it is easy to take on and off. Also I sometimes use it as ballast when I need to lift something near the FEL's capacity. It works much better for that than my 750 lb ballast box.

One tip is that you should not use the tractor's rear remotes while the BH is connected to the Power Beyond port in order to avoid damage to the BH's valve stack. (This might come into play if you use a rear remote to power something up front, like a snow blade, grapple, or auger.) There is a single sentence about this in the BH92 Op Manual, but I didn't see it and learned my lesson the hard way.

The manual for my BH 92 states:

"It is necessary to have the backhoe detached when using rear remotes, the 3 point hitch or any other valves that are downstream of the backhoe valve. Failure to do this may cause the exceeding allowable back pressure to break the seal or case of the backhoe valve."

It seems to me to be a rather poor design when doing something as simple as hitting the 3pt hitch lever by accident can cause damage to the BH valve! It appears even checking the system hydraulic pressure with a gauge from a rear remote with the BH on could cause a problem.

I was planning on converting the mechanical thumb on my BH92 to hydraulic using a rear remote. I guess I'll have to rethink this. I have seen posts here though of others who have done this with no reported problems.

I leave my BH92 on my MX5800 most of the time as ballast when using the FEL bucket or grapple to move heavy material. I assume the 3rd function valve is plumbed ahead of the BH in the hydraulic circuit or I would have broken something by now.

I occasionally use a rear remote to power a tool now and then with the BH installed. So far, I haven't had an issue. It seems to me an easy way to avoid damage when doing this would be to disconnect the BH hydraulic feed hose and reconnect it to the tractor. I don't see why you would have to physically remove the BH from the tractor.

Interesting, the statement in your BH manual provides a quite a bit more detail than mine. Mine was from 2011. When did you buy your backhoe? Yes, now I disconnect the PB from my backhoe when I want to leave it on but won't be using it.

I traded in my BH90 for the BH92 in 2016. The manual is dated 2009 though with code # 7K505-7991-4

For some reason, the serial number written on the manual by the dealer does not match the number on the hoe. It is possible they lost the one for my hoe and gave me this one instead.

Then it is the other way, they took info out of the manual. That doesn't seem right, but I'll take a look in my BH manual.

Yeah, that is the way it is usually done to avoid inserting the hoe valve before the AUX valve. I connected
my old L2550 exactly that way. Kubota's industrial machines (like my B21) use a manual diverter valve when
the hoe is connected. Other CUT makers push the hoe user to actually use the AUX valve work ports to
power the hoe, locking the valve on when in use. Not ideal there, either.

IMO, Kubota has screwed up on their newer Grand Ls by not putting the hoe connection after the AUX, or
connecting it one of those other ways above. I will bring it up if I see a factory technical person at next
month's World AG Expo.

Well- talk about under promising and over delivering....my backhoe showed up today at the dealer.. I am taking my tractor in Monday to have it installed.
