LOL. Thanks Kyle. That was actually on my list of things to Google.

I can use my platform scale but it’s a bit of a hassle even with the forklift. I kinda value my fingers and toes.

What would the big one weigh that is still at my friend’s yard?

Not certain but let’s call it 48” diameter x 2” thick. Steel.
About 1050 lbs.

I was just quoted 4x8 sheet of 10 gage @ $268.
Ouch.

And sadly that's not the worst pricing I've seen on sheet lately. Some people on at $2+ a lb! At least you're still under $1.5, barely.
Hope it goes down at some point soon

Thanks BackRoad

My friend Bob gave me a couple of pipe caps to make mini welding tables. One for him one for me. I will need to go back later to pick up the 3/4" plate for the bases. This was a full load for my little Ford Ranger.

Tube anything is way up, DOM is even worse if you can even get it.

Maybe I should auction off my small selection of DOM??

Maybe lol, even everything attachments redesigned their grapples to use less DOM due to difficulty getting it!

I picked up some used 3/16" diamond plate for making a flat bed for my truck. 2 pieces that were 4' x 10' was $500 and that was half the price of new (according to the guy selling...) I got an estimate on some DOM to replace the roller on my flail mower and 6" OD x 1/4" wall DOM at 78" long was over $600! I found someone selling 11' "drops" of 6" schedule 80 pipe for $150 each. It's not the perfect size, but at 1/4 the price I'll make it work. That and it weighs about 3 times as much. Of course I had to ask what they were making that 11' was a "drop". Apparently they buy it in 40' lengths and make something for the oil fields. They used to just scrap out the drops until someone convinced the boss to sell them.

Here’s a base for a new welding table I’m working on. Built mostly from scrap and leftovers…
