Yeah, the worm is alive and well! I went back today, after clearing snow with Clementine, for a more objective look at the L4630. The dealer even let me move snow with it. It is just an awesome machine. Smooth, powerful, massive compared to my little L3010. It has R4 tires now. I'm partial to aggies, but with all the logging I do in the woods the rugged case of those R4s would be nice. Sure, I'd have to keep the chains on a few extra months, but come timber harvest time it sure would be nice!

I can readily relate to this whole scene. I drove an Agco ST30, finding it pretty nice and something I could easily live with and be pretty happy. Then I drove the ST34A, which looks a lot bigger when sitting on the ground, but the thing seemed to shrink as I drove it around. Then the pricing difference wasn't all THAT much, and ....

I left and went to the Kubota store up the street. I've been in this situation back in the day when shopping for a motorcycle. I drove a 175, liked it, was more or less ready to buy. The guy offered to let me drive a 250, which I did and liked it even more. Then when he offered the 360, I wisely turned him down and took the 250 home with me. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Garry, there's nothing wrong with your memory!!! After a year of raising and lowering the ROPS every time I put ol' Clementine in the garage I gave up and built a carport for her.

The next tractor will be Tetters, named after the best dog I ever had. I'm torn between a new L4330HST or a used L4630HST with only 230 hours on the clock. They're essentially the same tractor.

It seems to me, when I first traded up to the L3010HST from the little B1750 that I was on the mightiest tractor on the planet! But 150+ acres of hardwood forested hillside has a way of shrinking things down to size. Ahem.

Dad's Rule #1: Get the product in the customer's hands.
Dad's Rule #2: Suggest other products to go along with the customer's purchase.

Guess he would have done ok as a tractor dealer too.

That is an interesting concept. When I got in my M9 for the first time I thought it was big, after all, it's the same size as our 105 physically and, after having the M9 and the 5030 side by side, it was BIGGER, lots bigger, but over the hours and seat time, it seems to be getting SMALLER.

The M9 and the 105 is SAMALLER physically that my Massey 1085 even though the share the same size drive tires. That's an 11,000 pound beast.

So I guess you can say that SIZE matters only initially and after that SIZE DON"T matter any more because one gets used to the difference.

No question about it. The L4630 will feel like a nimble little tractor in no time.
