My Cub dealer, who also sells Case and Case IH, will pickup and deliver up to 25 miles and it's free for warranty problems. I've never tested it since he delivered my 3235 in 2004. Never had a problem.

The local guy had an astounding profit of $0.00 on you buying that machine from someone else.

Now he was willing to work on it, but I see no reason why he should put you at the front of the line. In his place I would put all of my own paying customers first.

Did you even ask him how long it would take to get a machine shipped in with the features you wanted?

I was willing to pay a little more to buy from the local dealer for just this reason. As luck would have it, the salesman overpromised and I got a very good deal on an expensive option, so I came out ahead by buying local. So far, so good, no problems, but I know I can get service if I need it. And, at the time they said their policy was that I only needed to pay shipping back to my place after work was done.

I suspect that is to let them cover the shipping in case of a major warranty malfunction.

First of all let me say that I am glad you are up and running with your new unit...problems happen and thats what warranty is for. With that said, did the dealer you bought it from tell you that any other dealer would warranty the machine or was that an assumption? If it was an assumption the only person you should be mad at is yourself. If your dealer told you this then they just told you what you wanted to hear to make a sale and I would be mad with them. In any case I would have to agree with Mr. Mud&Grass and say that entitlement may be the wrong idea when it comes to your new purchase...just imagine how entitled a farmer would be when he buys a couple new tractors at $200,000 a piece...he must feel like he owns the place when he walks in. (And I bet that some do feel that way). In the end, as good as the new Cub Yanmars may be, you probably would have been better off buying the Kubota...remember, your purchase is just as much about dealer support as it is the machine when both machines are comparable.

You need to read your machine warranty and have a better understanding of what a CC dealer is obligated to do, and when they are obligated to do it. No manufacturer pays for travel or pickup & delivery on warranty claims, and few if any dealers absorb those costs on units they did not sell.
The tone of your posts suggests to me that if I were on the other end of the phone from you as a dealer other than the selling dealer, I'd not be jumping through hoops.

I must agree. Sounds like after the local dealer lost the sale, he was then subjected to further abuse through his obligation to to do Cub/Yanmar warranty. It's really different to walk into a place after you bought a piece of equipment there and ask for service, maybe even some type of emergency service. I couldn't imagine buying from someone else then walking in and commanding immediate service.
Someone at CCY probably pulled some strings with that dealer to stop the phone calls.

I think you were entitled to the cold shoulder you got.

Me thinks the local dealer should be thanking his lucky stars he didn't have one in stock. Some customers cost more than they're worth...

Sorry guys, but I actually agree with him. The guy had a super crappy experience with cub cadet and no one associated with cub cadet jumped at the chance to make it right. I also agree that, for the most part, customer service has gone out the window. When I bought my tractor, I didn't buy from my local dealer either. I could get it cheaper elsewhere and, even when given the chance to match the price, they refused. So, their loss. In this situation, this guy is forever turned off by everything cub cadet due to one bad situation that could have been turned into a good story about excellent customer service. Instead, everyone associated with Cub in this story decided to do as little as possible. Then, to add insult to injury, the guy comes on here to vent a little and people jump his case acting like its HIS fault. I'd be turned off by this community too.

I'll partially agree with you Hozen. We all probably could have been a little more understanding. But in our defense, when someone shows up with their first post and starts complaining without a hello or introduction it kind of turns some of us off. He stated that we trashed him without knowing the facts...but the truth is he wouldn't tell us the facts, only telling us he wanted Cub to buy back his unit back without a reason. A reason as it turns out that was fairly minor. Most of us here know that machines are not perfect, sometimes it takes a little time to work out the bugs...that's what warranty is for. As for customer service, I have dealt with a couple Cub dealers here in Wisconsin and they have been great. The shop where I bought my Sc2400 only does warranty work on equipment he sells allowing for faster return times on customer's (my) equipment. I guess that's the appeal of buying from a local, well respected dealer.
