Been setting up to sell broiler chicks locally for about two years now, this was going to be the first summer. Looks like that wont be a revenue stream this year, dang it. Frustrating.

More chicken farms around here are having to de-populate to control this flu. Chicken for a good price at the store is nonexistent too. Farm news lady says egg and chicken prices should go up.

I'm hoping that it doesn't become widespread here, I already have birds scheduled to come next month. They say to keep them inside but I'm not set up to do that. The whole point of keeping a flock is so that they can scratch and run, so don't taste like they came from a feed lot.

It was reported in my county, but that's a big area. The annual bird migration can't be helping.

I don’t see anything in there that restricts anything in GA except selling at flea markets and swap meets. It even says there are no cases in Georgia.

As of April 12, Iowa has euthanized over 13 million birds.

In 2015, 32 million were euthanized in Iowa.

I hope bird flu isn't becoming a recurring problem.
