Well maybe we can have some good ole coon stew! 😋

Never tried that. I imagine you can eat anything if you get hungry enough. Groundhog is good if made correctly, just like squirrel. Both are vegetarians, where as coons will eat about anything.

I think relocation is potentially worse. Move the problem somewhere else. So now you have an unnatural imbalance in the preserve that causes other unintended consequences. The varmint you move in pushes something else out and it ends up on the land of the guy adjacent to the the preserve. If not that, it creates more prey and coyote populations increase. Sure, maybe you only drop off 1 a year...now multiply that by the number of properties in the county. Pretty soon your 1 is 50 or 100.

Put them down and use the carcass for fertilizer.

I love me a good old Squirrelapult.
It's frigg'n tough not to laugh as the squirrel starts to get into launch position.
My friend built a good one. It launches the little nutters about 50' up and over a 100' out.
Love watching them go into supersquirrel position. All that's missing is a little cape.
Watching them overtime you begin to see the same ones come back.
Frequent fliers:ROFLMAO:

That is something to think about. Good post.

Well the camera worked. She is definitely dealing with a coon. I am leaving the camera down so she can check it when she gets up. Then we will see what she wants done. Good news, no bears.

Maybe get a new hat?
Funny story. I was traveling to Flagstaff to see a customer and needed to stop for a potty break. I pulled into an Indian souvenir store that had billboard saying they had clean restrooms. While in there I saw they had some kids size coon skin caps. I bought a couple for my grandkids and told them how I fought two coons and skinned them to make some hats. They looked at me like I was crazy and would not touch them. :ROFLMAO:

When we first moved here - I burned our garbage. We had several coons then. Then we got rural garbage service. No more coons since we quit burning.

As kids, the Daniel Boone craze was on and every kid had a coonskin cap on. I wore mine to bed for a while till my mom stopped it. I kept it for maybe 15 years.
