I know.

It would be a big concession of defeat, but the fun is in that I can spend the time actually using my other tractor that works instead of tinkering with this one. I'm still not sure what I'll end up doing. I just know I'm considering selling it outright. I really don't think anyone would be willing to pay for it what I think I can get for parts on e-bay.

It would be fun to buy it then swing back by in an hour and give a glowing report about how well it runs after connecting a loose fitting!

I know it's got to be something like that. Honestly, I think if that happened I'd be more relieved than disappointed. It would really be worth something to me just to know what is wrong with it.

A quick update on this old thread...

I loaded up the old girl tonight because tomorrow I'm trading for a utility 4-wheeler. This is my official admission of defeat. I about cried when I saw the tractor sitting on the trailer ready to leave my place without being fixed.

I told the guy who is getting it that he needs to call me when he finds out whatever the problem was. I just know that whatever it is will make me feel stupid for not realizing it. I sure hope he is able to fix it, though.

I think about this tractor every now and then. I never did get back with the guy I traded it to. However, about 2 months after I traded it, I saw an identical tractor for sale in the local want ads. I never did call on it.

The 4-wheeler I got out of the deal has been awesome. It looks terrible, but it pushes a lot of snow and pulls an intertube great.

I'll see if I can dig up the guy's number and find out what ever happened.
