Blew up Kubota motor

After talking to sever people....everyone was either industrial only and never seen a v2403 with balancers....or were ag only and never seen one without and stressed the importance of them. And I didn't know Kubota again and Kubota industrial were two separate divisions now. So who knows what else may be different???

But, finally I talked to someone at EPS that is familiar with both engines.

He confirmed. The industrial engines used in compressors, generators, or skidloaders and excavators....all isolated. Rubber mounting, etc. And usually isolated from whatever they are driving too via Lovejoy or similar flexible coupling. So his concern in a tractor with everything totally Ridgid...harmonics and vibrations.

So back to square one. That about rules out all of the new engine options other than dealer.

And at $6k for a reconditioned since I'd be giving up most of my core values.....or $7500 ish for nee dealer motor.....a $9k ish 2wd gear machine with 350 hrs is looking better and better

What is the easy to obtain part out valve after you pull the motor on the 9k tractor?

I haven't read back through your whole thread. Did you see this listing on ebay? The number on the plate isn't identical so I don't know if it fits your need or has the balance shaft. The seller lists the part number you had in a previous post in the information header.

Yep saw that one.

But I assume it's a industrial version. I have no way of knowing by looking, so don't even know what to ask a seller to look for. But since dealers are the only ones selling ags and everyone else is selling industrial versions....I assume any that I see is gonna be industrial unless from a tractor dealer, or tractor salvage yard.

Probably alot more than than the price difference.

But only a $2k price difference, if I can sit on it awhile and find a motor (even a non turbo version) for $3k ballpark....and have a working 50hp 2wd machine for only $5k more than just an engine InThe long run.

If no one can tell the difference, how do you know which motor you would end up buying (BS vs. non-bs)?

I dont....unless someone else knows a way.

The shops that I have called, didnt seem to offer up any easy way to tell....just that they look up serial numbers if whatever they are working on and that tells them.

So getting an engine from a tractor dealer....is the only way I would "know" that I am betting a BS engine

Quite common to have difference on a tractor engine Vs same engine as a industrial engine. Often more solid block because the engine is a part of the chassis of the tractor and must carry heavy loads bolted to the engine.

Very valid possibility.

I would guess that the serial numbers on the engine block would identify industrial versus ag. Without the serial number schema there is no way to tell.

Without seeing pictures I have a hard time believing the block is ruined. My engine machinist buddy and I have saved many an engine block deemed destroyed by other "experts". I would need to see pictures of this destroyed balance shaft. The balance shaft bore can possibly be resized, alinebored, or honed and over sized bearings fitted, and or turned down from another source and fitted. With these custom fit to order deals you must know to never run your engine out of oil again. Shame you aren't closer, I would drive over and take a look with my friend. Any pictures at all?
