Blew up my new snowblower

Turn that blade around and pull it. I plow my drive with a 7' Heavy Duty Woods Blade behind my Jinma 28 HP 4x4 with no issues. 4 passes up my 280' long drive and 10 minutes with the loader and here is the results. Takes less than 20 minutes total. These picture are a 14" drop.

Bill,
Why don't you just plow with the loader bucket until you get the blower fixed or do like Chris said and turn the blade around and pull it.

Does the $300 include the new shaft you need or is that just the gearbox. I'm guessing it comes with it since it goes through it.

I find it hard to believe overtightening a shearbolt could cause that, I'm thinking you may have a grade 8 bolt in there by accident, check the end of the bolt for markings before you run it again or you may have the same problem...someone may have stuck it in the wrong bin by accident. Hey George. hows it going? George is the previous owner of my puma.

Hey Mike, Doing great. I was thinking the same thing about the shear bolt being the wrong grade. Thought it might have been wrong from the factory but then Bill said he's changed it 8-10 times so maybe he put one too strong in there. I have had a small chunk of ice shear a pin, hard to believe a rock the size of a loaf of bread didn't shear it. Besides, I could never over tighten a shear bolt because I broke a few just tightening them too much. I often thought about putting a higher grade shear bolt in but then I figured bolts were cheaper than gearboxes.
P.S. Bill was going to buy mine before you did but didn't want to make the trip from Maine.

When I was a lot younger, I bought a used blower off an old fella and used it for 5 years throwing golf ball sized rocks across the yard thinking how great it was. one day one side of the augers stopped turning, I thought I had finally snapped my first shear pin till I saw it was held in with a grade 8, and trashed the whole gearbox...ouch...lesson learned!!

At least this was one storm we missed and those to the east and south got. After a few months lake effect gets to be a drag. I'm ready for spring.

We got nearly 2' from that one, I am sick of it as well.

Glad you're getting more use than I was. As I told you it was too much back and neck strain for me. (also too slow in my opinion). With my 800 lb rear ballast I can really move some snow with the loader.

Last week we got about 30". I had to take my tractor up to my son's in Amboy (4 miles north of Panther Lake) to clear his driveway. Plow truck couldn't get up his driveway. He took some pics of me moving the snow but hasn't sent them to me so I can post them.
