Blitz Non-spill Fuel Can

   / Blitz Non-spill Fuel Can #31
I too had to buy one of them "no spill" blitz cans for diesel and couldn't believe the "mickey mouse" spout thing! The first time I tried to use it to fuel up my Kioti, I had fuel all over the place. So I shopped 'till my eyes popped trying to find a decent fill spout........no such luck, you can find them on the internet but just like a good fuel can... "CAN NOT BE SHIPPED TO CALIF."
And while shopping one of the local parts store looking for a "hidden gem", the lady parts person told me one day she went to the gas station to fill up her "old" 2 gal. can for her lawn mower. She pulled in, opened her trunk, got the can out and proceded to fill it, when a cop pulled in to fuel, saw her, informed her that her can was "illegal" and wrote her a ticket!!
God bless our pencil-pushing do good enviromentalists, I would love for them to come and show me how "easy" and "friendly" these new mandated fuel cans are!
So fed-up with this B.S., I use this now (see pic). The one on the left is the "blitz", the one on the right is what I re-fuel when on jobs. These come in yellow, red, blue, green, white and come with a little sticker that says; "NOT FOR THE TRANSPORT OR STORAGE OF MOTOR FUELS IN THE STATE OF CA" /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Now if you go and buy a 5 gal. blue "blitz" kerosen can, it comes with a flexible spout, not one of those "no spill" ones. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

O.K., got that off my chest.........feel better now, thanks /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I feel for you guys in Kalifornia and Florida, seems like the nuts migrate there and assume power somehow.

Here's the skinny on that thought; I attempted to locate said spouts at various locations in PA. No good, store owners say regs won't allow sale /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Have friend locate spouts in other state, obtain two. Thinking I'm in good shape, attempt to attach spouts to cans. Oh-Oh, different style threads, bad seal at gasket, won't work /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Now forced to use non-vent cans. First fueling, J.D. 445. PVC tank, while fueling, PVC lip "gives" just enough under pressure to allow spout detent to slip /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Only way to fuel is to place can so that spout is straight with filler neck body prior to engaging the lock. Good thing these cans have two handles on them.

Intersting point here in PA. I have shopped various stores in my search for other fueling alternatives. The blue Kero containers are now on sale for $6.99. The Yellow diesel containers are on sale for $6.99. But, the red gas containers are on sale at $12.99 now /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Give these pencil-pushing-white collar-goody-two-shoe enviromental idiots out here in California a few more months and they'll pass some stupid law requiring vapor recovery systems on pick-up etc. mounted fuel tranfer sytems next! And y'all know most everything blows east! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

uht oh...... I might have just given them an idea! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif sorry

I haven't had a spout fail, and the diesel cans work OK...but using the gas cans to fuel my pontoon boat is the pits as it takes SO long. The boat has a side fill, like a vehicle, and you have to hold the can in one hand and the boat in the other (to keep it from drifting away from you and the dock....of course this leaves my very broad back a buffet for our misquetos and black flies....

for those of us close to the New Jersey border, we dont have to worry about those stupid useless cans. a buddy of mine has one, and he hates it. my next fuel can will come from a gas station across the bridge. heck, its only a 15 minute ride!

Yes I agree, I was going to hit a Wally World on the other side of the Delaware sometime soon.
But if I remember correctly someone in another post said that Jersey is now also mandating these new cans also.
Maybe we can get some input from TBN'ers in NJ.
