Intersting point here in PA. I have shopped various stores in my search for other fueling alternatives. The blue Kero containers are now on sale for $6.99. The Yellow diesel containers are on sale for $6.99. But, the red gas containers are on sale at $12.99 now /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif )

Have friend locate spouts in other state, obtain two. Thinking I'm in good shape, attempt to attach spouts to cans. Oh-Oh, different style threads, bad seal at gasket, won't work .

Can the friend get the cans to go with the spouts he got?

That's my next plan of attack. Have been using the spring ones until I get other container. Actually, for the amount of gas I'm going through I think I will get one of those "gas Buddy" wheeled containers. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thinkin' on my next trip over the hill to Reno, I'll have to stop in one of the auto parts stores and see what kind of can I can find there /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif ( if I have any money left! )

Even in Nebraska it is getting hard to find a "real" gas can in a store. Seems that all states will be getting the junk ones, even if there is no mandate. I found several @ Home Depot and bought 4. Did you try a thicker gasket on the spouts your buddy bought? Maybe we have to buy the new cans, but I'll bet a BUNCH of them will be modified in short order!

My blitz jug was full of water and rust contaiminated diesel so I grabbed an old 5 gal jug with flex spout to get some fuel for the tractor.

Good god I made a mess of the thing trying to get the spout to the tank and ended up dumping fuel all over the hood and me.

I'll take the slow blitz can back please!

Back in the 70s I had a 5 gallon "jerry can" that I carried on the back of my Landcruiser. I had a long metal threaded spout for it that would make fueling up a little easier. The can sure was heavy when full though.

I found a similar jerry can at generatorjoe.net but the spouts look kind of short. Anyone out there use jerry cans anymore (I would think that the term "jerry", although not truely pc, would be OK to use)?

"Jerry" is British slang. I could not find any evidence it's derogatory.

There is no such thing as politically correct .

Jeeps and other offroaders still use them. They will hold up a lot longer and better than plastic can that will wear a hole in it from rubbing against something.
