Blockage?

Hi. Went out this morning to put on my front end loader and I only can move the up and down, can't curl the bucket. FEL has sat out all winter uncovered and its -20 something today. Any thoughts as to what I should/could check? Tractor and FEL are only 3 years old and not used very much. I have a front end snow blower - thats why the FEL sits in the winter. Thanks

Reset the QD or replace.

Put a hair dryer on the valve cans and see if the spools will move, and if so, you have moisture somewhere and you need to check the cans on the bottom of the valve, then clean, lube and install with weep holes at the bottom.

Thank you for the quick reply. Pardon my lack of knowledge here- but what is a QR, and a valve can? Spool? sorry quite green to this.

QD's are Quick Disconnects for hyd hoses.

The cans are the little cans/covers on the bottom of the hyd valve and contains the centering springs and float assembly and the regen assembly.

Thank you. I took out the shop manual and gave a look over. Guess my brain was frozen on the QD one-I actually knew that one! Thankfully I won't have to work on this in the freezing cold (it's -26C today) I switched to 2 outside QD's with the 2 inside QD's and tried that. Of course it didn't work right but I knew it wouldn't. I didn't have them hooked up wrong to begin with. Then I switched them back to their proper positions, but one I couldn't get on so I had to relieve the pressure in the line with a screwdriver and pushing on the pin in the QD. The hydraulic fluid was quite thick. I reconnected and everything works great. Thank you again for your suggestions.
