You are the only one that I remember complaining about this.Had a Tool Cat on trial for a week. It is the MOST FRUSTRATING piece of equipment I have ever used! The Arms on the 3Point Hitch are not extensible which, if you could see the equipment you were attaching to, would not be a problem. But you can't. So you do a lot of getting in and out of the cab as you line up with the equipment. This highlights to other problems. The vehicle will not move unless the door is closed and (if you can believe it) the outboard arm rest is down! Infuriating! It seems like a great idea. 60hp, steering both front and rear, PTO and 3PH on the back and a bobcat attachment and third function hydraulics on the front, all with a heated and air conditioned cab. The reality however is a $60K ergonomic nightmare that would need significant user modifications to make it serviceable.
The F Series we had and the G Series we have would both move with the door open, as long as the safety arm rest is down.
I have stood outside with the arm down and used the joystick to move the boom or curl the forks. Didn't try to move the machine though.
I don't have any problems hooking up the three point hitch, just roll the stuff into position:
