Hey guys. I知 restarting this thread I took your advice and we started doing outr sidewalks in house with the Ventrac and touch up with shovels. Now I want to take on the lots. We have around 3.5 acres of open lots and roadways. The lots will be clear of cars when we plow. I would like to know how the Toolcat compares to a skid steer or a CUT?
The advantage I can see with the TC is it will be used daily by the grounds crew and maintenance technicians whereas a skid steer and tractor will sit all year. I don know if that should be the deciding factor because I can always buy a RTV 500 for daily use and get a CUT or skid steer for snow for around the same price. I want to know what will plow my lots quicker?
Thanks for your help.

I attached photos of the lot and you request pics the the Ventrac

How much snow are you dealing with? Is a way cheaper plow truck out? Assuming you can’t use the truck I don’t think you can beat a skid steer for plowing.

I see that you got the blower for the ventrac. Why not just buy a newer gas plow truck and plow big stuff with the truck and then use the ventrac for smaller stuff and clean up?

My vote is a plow truck and using the ventrac blower

I need to place the snow in specific areas. I can’t just plow to the end of the lot. I want something that can handle large storms as well. IF I need to call in a sub for 1 event it will cost me more than what I spent on a more expensive machine. I have time on my side if we get a large event, school is closed multiple days and I can work my salary employees all day.

I think you have your plan then. A toolcat with a pusher blade or snow plow.

No matter what you do you need a cab on whatever you get.

Will the TC be more productive than the other two for snow removal?

The SS has brute strength in its favor. The skid steer has forward visibility in its favor. The tractor has 360 visibility in its favor. How far are you traveling with the snow? A SS isn’t a good tool for traveling any distances.
