Bobcat wood splitter, how to hook up?

You would remove the valve (no need for it) & mount the splitter upside down on a quick attach plate, a 773 is a skid loader, not a tractor. I have a homemade 3 point I built 30+ years ago I did this to.

You have to have some kind of valve to make the cyl extend and retract.

What kind of valve are you using to power the cyl on your log splitter.

Is it lever or switch control solenoid valve, and is it motor spool or what.

Are you using fwd and rev to supply fluid in the extend and retract.

Just curious.

What I am getting at is , do you have a log splitter valve to extend and auto retract, or do you have to hold the switch one direction and when split, push it in the other direction for retract.

The Bobcat already has all the hyd controls inside. Controlled with a switch on the joystick. No need for a person on the outside. Watch the video in the link, lots of those types being made in shops around here.

I understand that.

Just remove the log splitter valve and plug in the cyl hoses. It should be plenty fast. Do you have two pump speeds?

It is not the fastest way to split and is more expensive to operate.

However, I like the splitter head on this splitter.

I have variable and max flow, not sure what his 773 has. Much faster and cheaper than the old gas tractor it was on before when it was 3 point.

The one in the video seems slow because of the large diameter cylinder which is needed because of the multiple splitting wedge. May be just as fast in the end.
