Anyone make an aftermarket bolt on stand for 3 pt implements? Have 2 implements that I'd like to have them for and I don't weld.

A simple "trailer jack" like this would be perfect, it swings up when not in use, some even can be removed with a pin to get it complete out of the way if needed. TSC and many other places sell them as well.

Heavy Duty 2000 Lb. Capacity Top Wind Trailer Jack

This is the way to go IMO. Quick, easy, does exactly what you want and at an extremely low cost.

That particular HF item has been badmouthed a bit, NOT because it's no good, but because nowhere in their description does it mention that it must be WELDED on :ashamed:

The only jacks HF sells that BOLT on are their lighter duty ones with wheels - although you might be able to replace the wheels with a flat plate somehow... Steve

With a little work, use countersunk bolts and you are good to go. I have used 3/8" counter sunk bolts many times in the past. ;)

Automotive jack stands and old car wheels are cheap and easy.

I was just referencing the style, not necessarily endorsing that exact product.

Kenny, no critisism intended, we're both just trying to be helpful -

In fact, I have half a dozen of that very jack, to be used for similar projects, bought about a year ago for about half price - That's how I know about HF's continued inattention to useful info on their website.

In my case, no biggie - I have two different stick machines, mig, tig, plasma and O/A, and am used to either DIY, MIY (Modify It Yerself ;) or whatever it takes - Same as you, by looking at your posts (thanks for many helpful ideas, BTW)

Had I NOT been someone who looks at a "can't get there from here" as just another challenge, however, I would have been extremely irritated when those jacks showed up on the doorstep with a half-a**ed instruction booklet that (FINALLY) told me they needed to be WELDED.

DOSGRIS mentioned that he doesn't weld, so when I clicked on the link and saw which jack it was, I posted the info that HF can't be bothered to include - just in case DOSGRIS was already desperate enough to get misled as several others have been.

Brian, I haven't yet looked at those jacks with your countersunk solution in mind, but I will - thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully DOSGRIS is still here, and may have that option - in which case, everybody please go back and "un-read" all my posts  ... Steve

I am like you, have many of those jacks, or similar that need to go onto implements. Unfortunately I simply do not have ANY TIME for my projects anymore. :( To busy making top & tilt sets for everyone. ;)

And as a recent recipient of one of those many sets, I can say I really appreciate you making them. Now that I am back home, our shop building is finally being built, and I'm actually finally going to be able to take delivery on my tractor, I'm really looking forward to using them. They are currently at my dealer bing installed. Thanks again!

Kennyd, There might just be a market for bolt on stands. Pictures are some I made. Pipe has a ring welded on the top so it can't escape. Pipe has two holes drilled in it, (none in the mount bracket, less holes to line up) one below the bracket to hold the implement up, and another when raised above the bracket to hold the pipe up. Only thing to lose is the locking pin and it could be tethered.

Thanks for the idea Z, but with all the variables like lengths and hole spacing I'm just not sure it would worth the effort. Add to the I can barley keep up with the Bolt-On-Grab-Hook sales as it is now! Whooda thunk it eh?

Anyway, here is a true "bolt on" trailer jack, I could not compete with this price!

If hole spacing is a problem just make a wing-nut. Weld the nut to the outer pipe after you drill the hole, weld a bolt to a piece of 1/4" round rod and bam...... infinitely adjustable
