I made a hitch mount for my winch, and decided to add a hitch to the boom pole. Here are the pictures of the hitch.

Here are some pictures of the boom pole with wheels that pin on so it can be wheeled around without having to lift it up, and the hooks mounted with shackle's so they can be switched as needed.

Here is the boom pole with the winch attached and a pulley on the end of the pole.

Did you make the Boom Pole too? That is so cool. especially the wheel attachments for mounting.

Thanks, I did not make the boom pole, it was only $119 at Tractor Supply.

Nice work there. I would just be careful with how much weight you try and lift with it. With the cable coming off the end of the pole, it can get a LOT of leverage on the tractor!

kebo, very true, I will keep that in mind.

I'd be very careful with that setup. If you are pulling something and it gets stuck, with the leverage that boom pole provides combined with the power of the winch it may pull the tractor over faster than you can get out of the way. Be sure to stand on the side opposite the load and in front of the front tires.

The specs on the TSC boom pole is 500 pounds rated lift capacity, IIRC. I'd wager that the pole is the weak link in this setup. You'd probably fold the pole over or bust a weld on the rig point before you came close to affecting the tractor or winch. You never know, though.

Nice setup, by the way. Looks great!

You will soon learn about tipping points. Yes, the boom is most likely the bending point, as the winch is probably rated at 2000 lb. line pull. The cranes mounted on service trucks are often bent this way. To much winch for a weak boom. Fun set-up, but be careful as you learn.
