Hey gang, yes, back on the road, arrived Homewood, ILL, yesterday, and will be here until Sunday. Monday will find us working north out of Chicago, towards, Fond du Lack, WI. This will take about two weeks, and then to my surprise, the Company, will be sending me to Baton Rouge, La. WOW, a chance to be close to Home.. Might even get to play on my new tractor on a weekend.
To answer some questions, that have been brought up, here is an attempt.
1. Local Kubota Dealer. With in two miles of my place. Has always given me the best quote the three times, I have ask him in the past two years. Has already let me Demo, a B5030, i.e. he knew, I was just needing to get some work done, that the BX would not handle, and has agreed to let me demo it again.
2. I had not had any experience with a MF GC2310 until last week. This said, I was surprise at what it could do, and from recent post, and photos, really amazed, by this tractor. I did not know about the RPM difference until pointed out in these post.
3. The price difference, is only $600.00 but, remember I live in Louisiana, and the MF quote was made in Effingham, IL. I have not had a chance to get any Local, quotes, which I will, just for yall here on TBN, but the Kubota already has my down payment. Again, no local dealers, this Kubota Dealer is the only tractor dealer in Winnfield, LA, the rest are from 33 miles to 120 miles away.
4. Why the BX, it just looks nicer, to me anyway. When growing up, my Dad worked for the City of Winnfield, in the water, and sewer dept. and has always worked around TLB’s, I have been fascinated since then with the though of owning one of my own. The proportions of the Kubota, look just like a smaller version of a larger machine.
5. I did make another visit to the MF dealer, Friday , again, he let me try it out, and even told me it would be OK to go around back and do some digging, but since I knew, I could not buy form him, declined the getting his tractor dirty. How ever, I pointed out a leaking hose, and they brought it in, and found the Hose, leaking at the compression fitting, I had thought it might just be a hose connection, that you could twist on it with a wrench and fix. Saw another post about this, sounds like a QC problem with the Hyd. Hoses.
6. More Fire, no flames yet, I also this last week, tried out a BX 23, at a rental yard, for a few minutes, and I believe the MF GC2310, to be different enough, to actually see that it is larger, from a sitting on and driving around stand point. I like the fact that the MF has two bucket cylinders, over the BX’s one. But I am still going with the BX, its all I need.
Well I have rambled around here a bit, and still don’t think I have answered any of yall questions, but that’s how things are, either concrete, or subject to opinion. And yall know about opinions. Hopefully, after I get some time on BX, I will have some answers.
