Box blade mod

Not to hijack this thread but has anyone put a trailer hitch on a BB. I use mine as ballast for the FEL. Would like to be able to fill trailer then just use 3PT to hook to trailer and move it around property.

Nice work!

So what degree of angle did you end up with? For reference, one degree would be just under a half inch on a CAT1 hitch spread. (About 28 inches center to center)

The angle on the blade should increase cutting ability due to the shearing action so will be curious to hear test results.

Now just need to add a small cylinder alongside the extension to adjust on the go. :)

Then it would be a T&T&A. Right? Or perhaps TNTNA?

I have a ball straight on the top of my boxblade similar to the one the OP has. The problem is it’s a little too high. It needs a 2” receiver to use a drop hitch.

Mine is in this thread.
I got the mount off of amazon for a John Deere gator. It was cheaper than if I had made it.

I am not sure what the degree is but I have two positions I can angle it to they ar 5" and 6" so I guess doing the math using your 1/2" per degree is 10* and 12*. A cylinder to angle it would be nice but the rear hydraulics are being used for the top link and ripper rotation. It is raining here in Northwest PA so I won't be trying it any time soon.

I don't care one iota about angling my BB...but the design of the hydro rippers is pure genius...please post a few more detailed pics...the ends for instance...

I will see if I can find the video of them. If not I will get one once it stops raining.

if you look in the first picture you can clearly see that I have a ball mounted on the back of the bb

An 8' landscape rake does the same thing, no modifications, pull 1 pin and rotate the angle out to 45 degrees. Most users don't get the notion that you need to put a few hundred pounds of weight on the rake to make it dig, but that's really all you need for gravel driveway or roadway maintenance. At the high angle the tooth spacing as seen by the stone is about zero, so it combs the material towards the center. It also smooths out any ruts or roller coaster mounds. Yes, you need gauge wheel behind the rake to maintain the gravel spread with a chain for a top link to get the smooth, level and combed results.

If you look at the pics in first post, he has a trailer ball on the back of his BB.

I hope the OP reports back on how it works for him. It should allow the gravel to move to the center of the drive to get a crown easier.
