Re: Box blade prices

a lot of this is the steel prices are very high almost 2~3 times what it was last year! since box blades are usually about 1 buck a pound then the steel costs goes from .25/lb to 50/lb then all other costs have to go up too. so for a 400 lb box blade that used to cost 400 now it is 500.00 no way around it the material cost have to be added in...

we seen this bad at out shop, so back on unemployment as everyone was used ot getting a better deal now holding their $ cause the materials cost up so much... oh well needed soem rest fomr working . /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Box blade prices

I purchased a Gearmore boxscraper for about $1700. You get what you pay for. At 1000lbs it will destroy any of the light duty boxes mentioned. The next step up is a Gannon at $2000. It's all a matter of how important it is to you. It was important for me to have hydraulic rippers and lots of beef that not only cut earth, but also was a great counter balance for my loader. I must repeat, you get what you pay for. Gearmore and Gannon did not get to where they are by building high priced cheap equipment.

Re: Box blade prices

I have a 6' BB made by Midwest, that I am very pleased with. It is built tough and finished well.

I bought mine from Corriher in NC. They currently sell the 6 footer for $395. They have their stuff posted on Ebay. Shipping won't be cheap to CO.
