Box Blade Question

   / Box Blade Question #11
That is probably the Land Pride model that weighs in at 600+ lbs. If you are looking for one to pull rocks and/or use often as ballast for loader, that's probably a good weight. It will cost you that much (or close anyway) as will a Woods of similar build and weight. I have a Woods 72" that weighs close to 600lbs and was about $900. You can get cheaper ones and they may be all you need. Both Land Pride and Woods sell lesser models also.

I bought a Midwest 30 series 72" BB from Tarheel tractor for $540 + $200 shipping. Real heavy duty 606lbs, 1/2" steel. Look for their ad on Ebay.

I'm also a former MX'er and our track guy use a disc and a BB. It would get a little water, then the disc. The track dirt is sort of a loam with a tad more clay in it. The next day in the sun it would dry out and be somewhat hard. The disc would soften it up down to about 8-9 inches or more. Then he would use the BB to build back up the jumps. Then the disc again before the race. He wouldn't touch it after that, what happened happened. It was wet again as this was a night race so it wouldn't dry out as fast. The stuff would sort of stick to you and the bike if you got some roost. But it would pack up into berms very nice. But it was softer than if you fell than the day track with the hard gumbo on it.

   / Box Blade Question #14
I plan on doing the same thing with a BB, if I ever get my lawn done. The nice thing is, I can justify the purchase of the BB with my wife since its for the yard and then use it for my track when that gets built.

Where is the track in NH, public or private?

It's private. In Merrimack. I am going to look around some more. I want to get a good box scaper so I'm sure I will pay a grand for it. I could get a cheaper one for 875 so my dealer said.

Called tarheel tractor and it would be 16 weeks if they could get one. They are switching manufacters. I guess it's Land Pride for a 1000. Really hate to spend that much money too.
