Thanks. Another dilemma, old Dr with 43 years of experience or a rookie Dr with 10 years experience? I would imagine, this type of surgery has come a long way over the years. Will the old Dr be set in his old ways or will the newer Dr know the latest and greatest methods? Thank God, I will be asleep but, but I want to wake up again.

I have always become weak in the knees, thinking about our physical weakness. I can't talk about proceedures and surgery. Just do it and don't tell me about it. I'm not sure what that is all about. I hope you have the strength, that I don't.

Best of luck to you, sir... here's to all good things and a fast recovery.

Thanks. Hopefully, this will improve a whole host of little ailments. Blood tests for pituitary hormone functions have been around for awhile and should have been done long ago. My fault for not advocating for myself.

I hope all goes well for you Doofy, a good attitude will go a long way.

My sister-in-law had a pituitary tumor removed. The tumor itself was benign but the growth of it and crowding of the general area is why it needed to be removed. I can’t remember if it was removed through her nasal passages or the roof of her mouth but the procedure only took a few hours and her recovery was a few days and she did not have too much discomfort.

I had a coworker go thru the same procedure. That was 12 years ago and while he has some slight vision problems due to the tumor slightly damaging his right optic nerve, overall he has faired very well.

If I were in ur situation I would be looking for what you describe as a rookie doctor who keeps up with the latest medical literature and techniques. My sister-in-law had an endoscopic procedure with two surgeons; an ENT and a neurosurgeon.

I think my situation will be very similar. Not sure of anything yet. Neurosurgeon needs to see all my lab work to formulate the plan of attack. Very happy to hear so many positive outcomes here.
