I OWN A 2010 JINMA 404. WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKE AN EXCLAMATION MARK LIGHTS UP ON THE DASH. BRAKES SEEM TO BE WORKING FINE. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT. THANX , JOE...

First thing with the brake light on, check your brake fluid! Also how firm is the brake pedal?

I know there's a starter interlock switch underneath the left floorboard. That's why you have to push the clutch pedal to start the engine. Look beneath the right floorboard for a similar switch on the brake linkage. That's likely what turns on the brake indicator in your instrument cluster. My guess is that it's a "hey stupid" light intended to warn owners not to start moving with the brake pedals still locked in the park position.

THANX TO ALL WHO REPLIED. I MAY NOT HAVE NOTICE THE LIGHT BEFORE THIS. IT IS HARD TO SEE IN THE SUN LIGHT , AND USUALLY WHEN IM BRAKING I HAVE MY EYES ON THE TRAIL , NOT ON THE DASH. HAVE ONLY PUT ABOUT TEN HOURS ON THIS MACHINE SINCE PURCHASE. JUST SORTING IT ALL OUT STILL ! THANX AGAIN , JOE...

Again - look under the right floorboard. The switch that energizes that light may be marginally positioned. It's typically just a one bolt attachment, and is not unusual to discover it's in need of a little fine tuning.
