Good morning folks. Here's a bit of an update from messing with the tractor over the weekend.
I drove the tractor in "M" with it throttled up about 1/4 - 3/8 throttle. I deliberately hit the brakes (no parking brake now) to see what would happen. Clear path all around me just in case.
The tractor not only stopped dead in its tracks, but stalled out!
One more time I decided to add some heating fuel to the steel tank where there is a question about the parking brake. Yep, you guessed it. The tractor - while shut down, and parking brake engaged according to the owner's manual, slowly creeped backwards until it finally rested on the rubber wheel chock I had placed under the left rear wheel. IMHO, I should not have to do any of this on that little slope.
I've been in touch with my new dealer, and he's called the LS factory rep for our area. They are going to start by replacing the parking brake cable and see where that gets us. If that doesn't work, they are going to take the tractor and pull the rear finals off and see what's going on inside there. The tractor has wet brakes and should not have any wear to speak of with ~69 hours on it.
So, there you have it. I'm still waiting to have my new tractor fixed. I think it will be repaired, it will just take some time.
