I disconnected the pressure side metal pipe coming out of the pump, oil just trickled out, starting tractor didn’t change anything. This connection was under the floor board area, maybe 2.5 feet from the pump. Not sure that tells me anything other than I’m not getting pressure from the pump.

I have some 1” hose, I think I could come up with a temporary reservoir to the suction side of the pump. Does anyone think that would help w/diagnostics? It would eliminate any air lock at least on the suction side, wouldn’t it?

That would be a good test as it would rule out the airlock option or a mechanical failure with the pump drivetrain. Are you using a OEM hydraulic filter? Or an aftermarket one?

I almost starting to wonder if the pumps are rotating at all.

Thanks for helping ptsg,

It is a Kukje Genuine Filter NTB8030000B3 from Dealership.

I just attached a hose to the suction side of the pump, filled it with oil and started the tractor, oil did not move. I think this eliminates any possibility of an air lock?
It seems that no oil goes in or out of pump.

I do have power steering which is working (is that the other pump?)

Yes, the tractor uses two pumps. One, smaller one, is for the power steering and PTO clutch pack on the newer models, I don't know if that model has a PTO clutch pack or uses a two stage clutch.

The bigger pump is used for the loader, 3 pt hitch and remotes at the back of the tractor.

Now, if the steering is working, that would rule out the airlock as both pumps share the same fluid and same suction pipe. Also the filter is correct and working well.

With your recent updates, I do believe you have a mechanical failure, instead of an air lock of some sort. Maybe the shaft on the bigger pump sheared for some reason and it's not rotating at all. It usually takes some time for a pump to go bad from running dry, but it can happen for sure.

I agree, I’m attempting to remove the pump. I found two long “through“ bolts and two nuts. I removed them all, pump moves around a bit but will not come out. I’m flying blind here, is there a more to it? There is what I’d describe as a cover ( the bolts and nuts fasten the pump to this cover, should I remove that cover? At this point I’ve removed the suction and pressure side hoses/pipes along with the two long bolts and two nuts/washers. Feels like the shaft is connected to something or captured by that cover I mentioned.

I never lost power steering only loader and three point lift.
I guess that would have been good info earlier on, my bad.

You can take the entire pump as an assembly.

The parts manual is not very clear, but looks like it's two longer bolts, one stud hiding behind and a short bolt. All the other ones just hold the pump together.

Here is a picture from the parts manual. Hopefully it helps you:

Great picture, those are the two long bolts, but I have two small nuts, slight difference. I’ll try a bit of pressure to try to get the shaft to release. Pump is loose just haven’t gotten the shaft to release it’s grip.

Thanks again!
