Probably has the fence post shooter going and is having way too much fun sending the posts vertical.

Howdy all, thanks for the questions there. I've had some turns come up in my life and I'm sorting all of that out, which unfortunately forces me to put the farm projects on hold. When I get back in the swing of things I'll let you know.

Thanks.

Well I, for one, think we should keep Mr. Spiveyman's thread going with some idle chatter while he's getting things sorted out., Don't you?

Anybody think Mr. Brumberg looks like that famous picture of Trumon Capote?

I think he is having second thoughts about giving me that front end loader when I reach a million posts.
Hang in there, we will be here with open arms when you get back in the swing of things. Hope all turns out well.

Howdy everyone. I've gotten a few inquiries as to where I've been the last little while. First of all I appreciate all of the thoughts. It is amazing how this little site can build friendships across such great distances. It is humbling to know that people actually care. I have lots of things going on in my life right now that have kept me from devoting the time I'd like to tractoring and this web site. In time I will get back here to finish up what I have started. I do have the post driver. It's an amazing piece of machinery, able to drive a 10" blunt post 3' into the ground. Wow. I am needing to get the fencing going, but we are in crisis mode on the farm trying to keep the cattle alive. The crazy weather this year has already claimed 1 cow, 7 feeder steers, and 1 trophy steer with an amzing set of horns. We did manage to get him skinned, so when he's mounted I'll have pictures. That has set us back financially. In addition I tore a muscle in my shoulder, the labrum (sp?), sits underneath the rotator cuff. It is torn very badly so I have almost no use of my right arm. Looks like I'm going to have to learn to hammer with my left hand, which means I'll likely also have some medical bills for broken fingers and such. I have surgery March 19, they are going to put 3 anchors in the bone and try to sew the muscle back to the bone. I'll be out of commission until mid June by their estimates. We're also in the middle of packing up my Granny - she's moving off the farm March 1st, and the plan is to renovate the house and move into it, but all of that is going slower than I'd like with my shoulder. There are also some other personal things that I am dealing with right now, that I'll explain in time. But for now, thanks for keeping this thread from dying out too badly. I'll do my best to post what I can when I can, but the updates will trickle in I'm sure.

Thanks!

Take care of yourself, your family, your cows, your fingers and last (but not least) my FEL.

Spiveyman

I ended up tearing the same muscle last June. Ignored it for 4 months (boy that worked well  ) and had surgery the beginning of October. Tear was about an inch and a half long and the Doc had to put in some sort of mesh to sew to since everything was so shredded. It is getting better and I am up to lifting three pounds pretty easily now. Thank goodness for HST I would have been stuck this winter if I had to shift (at least right handed).

Point is Do Not Rush Healing it won't work. Besides you get to learn to do all sorts of stuff left handed.:D If you heal anything like me it will seem like you are not making any progress at all and then all the sudden it feels a lot better. Oh and don't take off the immobilizer gadget at night it'll set you back 2-3 weeks. Physical therapy is a bit of a bear but sure helped. Good luck and keep us posted!
