Bright Spotlight

Thanks for the links and info. From one of the links above led me to a Flashlight forum - CandlePowerForum - In the forum a Stanley High Intensity Discharge Spotlight had good reviews and some Walmarts carried them. I checked with the Walmarts within 50 miles and two Super Walmarts did have them in stock. As the forum said they will not be listed on the shelf they are behind the other Stanley (non-HID) Spotlights. I bought the last one in Rockdale TX.

Specs.: 35 watt HID bulb, sealed lead acid battery - 12v 3AH, AC charger, DCplug

It is charging now and tonight I will attempt to take a picture of the beam and a short review.

Just got a TSC ad circular in the mail. It has a 1,000,000 candlepower spotlight for $10.00. Probably not the best of quality but cheap nonetheless.

I bought the 1m $10 tractor supply light and returned it, it was not that bright.

The Stanley HID however is plenty bright and I can see 700 feet. I suspect that the spotlight would stay charged less than 30 minutes, but that is enough time for my application which is seeing what the dog is barking at.

I'm very inexperienced at taking night pictures so excuse the quality.

The first pic is the fence post 150' away and the same place the coyote was in the first post. (camera at 18X zoom)

The second pic is the cattle guard at 600ft (with reflectors) and the road beyond at 700 to 800 feet. I can tell what kind of animal at 700 feet at night and that is all the illuminated distance I need. (camera at 18X zoom)

The third pic is a tree 100 feet away.

Ron was shining the flashlight from the house as I was walking down the road and at 800 ft away the road was lit like a car was behind me.

This Spotlight is a keeper!

Here are a few pics of the spotlight. The third pic shows the small separate lights on the top of the spotlight which can light your path or your camera settings without blinding you.

This flashlight does come with a 12 volt power supply cord and will run just off your vehicle or charge the battery.

Can you keep it on the charger all the time when you are not using it?

Don, thanks for posting. After reading your post yesterday (waiting for it to recharge and for you to post results) I searched it on YouTube and watched a video of a guy showing his spot light. Very nice light and when mine dies I'll be looking into one of these!:thumbsup:

Get a GoLight remote controlled spotlight and put it up on a mast, tv antenna or chimney. They are for sale on ebay or they have a website. These are pretty bright (read a book at 850 ft).

I used one on a boat mast and you could pan fry perch with one while they were still in the water.
