Bringing 3 phase power onto my property

I've been running my shop on an Arco rotary converter for over 25 years starting motors as large as 20HP and. As small as 7 1/2HP with virtually no problems.
There are some good deals in the used machinery market if you have 3 phase power.

That's it right there!

ONE RPC in my shop runs EVERY 3 phase tool that I own, and I can run more than one tool at a time, all from ONE RFC that I bought for $250.00 YEAR'S ago...

Why would I dumpster that, just to have to buy more electrical junk for every 3 phase tool that I own, or will own in the future??

Access fees are higher because this is a very rural area. There are many miles between houses in most of this region. $28 for residential. .13 for the first 500, .10 over 500 and .07 for off peak.

MI and WI KWH does not change based on use for residential. I didn't know other did.

Power fee's in Mi. vary depending where you live.

Running power to a barn or shop, is at a different rate than power to a residence...

They will vary by utility. The Service Commission does have dictate some of it though.

I haven't looked at downstate rates, but UP may be higher, because it is more expensive to operate. Less customers, spread out, and multiple utilities in the same area making it inefficient.

All the people who don't pay in the cities, must drive up costs for those utilities.

I've couple of vfds running a lathe and a saw. I am happy with the way they operate. But if I had a bunch of larger motor to run, but a rpc would be an easier way.
