Does anyone know how accurate the following is? Sounds about right to me. I don't know where it originated, but apparently an e-mail making the rounds.

Worst president in history?

Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war.
They complain about his prosecution of it.
One liberal recently claimed Bush was the worst president in U.S. history.

Let's clear up one point: President Bush didn't start the war on terror.
Try to remember, it was started by terrorists BEFORE 9/11.
Let's look at the worst president and mismanagement claims.

FDR led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us: Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost,
an average of 112,500 per year

Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.
North Korea never attacked us.
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost,
an average of 18,333 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.
Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost,
an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered ***** bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing.
***** has attacked us on multiple occasions.
Over 2,900 lives lost on 9/11.

In the two years since terrorists attacked us,
President Bush has liberated two countries,
crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida,
put nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot,
captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.
We lost 600 soldiers, an average of 300 a year.
Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.

Worst president in history? Come on!

The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...

It took less time to take Iraq
than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51 day operation.

We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time
than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Teddy Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq
than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!

Our military is GREAT! PASS IT ON.

Maybe it's not coming back after all...

That'll be a good deal for Haliburton and all their subsidiaries over there, more war profiteering for the ones who pushed for the war. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Just something to think about.

Opposing political parties, each struggling for power. Distortion, lies and dirty deeds are considered acceptable methods of operation by the parties. Barely any respect for the other's point of view. Strong moral disagreements and religious differences. Total control by one political party over all other opposing parties is highly fought for.

This is how I see the political parties in the USA.

What I don't understand is how this system of government can be peacefully brought to a people of a nation such as Iraq.

What he is not, is articulate.

Those are the words I was searching for. Bush is no dummy, a little rough around the edges, and some grit in him. He does not remind me of a pampered rich child although he was raised in a wealthy family,he has probably been in a few scraps growing up. I think he has more of an edge than his father in an outward appearance.

Author: David Corn, Washington editor of The Nation - a liberal publication that almost always supports Democrats.

Author: William D. Hartung runs the Arms Trade Resource Center, a project of the World Policy Institute. World Policy Institute, Director is Stephen Schlesinger, formerly a U.N. official and foreign policy advisor to Governor Mario Cuomo.

Hardly unbiased sources.

Haliburton, Haliburton, Haliburton. Do you actually know what percentage of military contracts that go to Haliburton? To be honest I don't, but to listen to these posts and the news media you would think that Haliburton is the sole source contract of the the armed forces. I believe what they are talking about are military jobs worldwide. For example at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama where I work, it is a secure base. You have to have ID and a window decal to enter the base. Years ago the gates were manned by MP's. Then they decided that there were not enough MPs to man all the gates at Army bases across the US. They bring in civilian guards, government employees. Then 9-11 hits, bam the MP's are on the gates with the civilian guards. The are still short MPs. They activate my old Guard unit. They man the gates for 2 years until about a month ago. They have hired a contractor to man the gates at Redstone. There are many things being contracted out in the military. Many mess halls that used to have Army cooks use contractors now.

This is America. Those of you who think Haliburton has such a good deal, and is being unfairly enriched by their participation in Iraq, are welcome to buy all the shares you can afford. Then, it won't be "they", it will be "you".
