Broke front hub

On my Kubota B2620, I broke the left front hub. I don't know what exactly caused the failure but nothing a thousand dollars can't fix.

Sorry about your loss... stuff happens when you actually use things. I pushed my hood back some a year ago hauling a big stump on my forks. Time to plead with the wifey for a back up tractor... [ especially with today's snow ]..

They asked me what I was doing. I told them I was using it. I've never had a truck, tractor or other equipment break while parked in the driveway.

Actually I was spreading gravel at my daughters farm. About 5 hours of getting a loader full of gravel, driving down the lane then dumping it and spreading it. Back and forth.

I did see a nice B2650 cab in the showroom but hard to justify the $26000.

The hub casting isn't brok, just internal parts I think.Don't send flowers. Send warm weather. Ha ha.

I think hours are around 600.

It was a good time to take a crap. Now my soninlaw is out plowing about 10 inches of snow with his tractor.

Call Messicks, order what you need, take photos as you repair it, don't do it again! Shouldn't 'a happened, though.

Were you running in 4wd? I would think gravels would provide enough slippage, but it is possible it was binding.

Funny the way things go sometimes. A few days ago, my daughter called and said 2 gravel trains were coming and could I come over and help. Well I have recently converted my loader to SSQA and had the fel part done but had not got around to welding the plate to the bucket.

So after I hung up the phone I went and spent about 4 hours out in the shop welding it up. Trailered it over to her house the next day and proceeded to break it.

Oh well, I got the money to fix it. She wanted to pay for half the repair bill. I told her No, it would have broken at home if not there.

I was in 4wd, on lightly snowed and wet gravel and some mud.

I'm not sure what failed first. I'm having the local dealer fix it. Probably about $300 to 400 labor. I would rather them fix it.

If you think tractors can be expensive, try horses or sailboats. I sold my 30' Catalina a few years ago so this is I can handle. lol
