But it does seem to me they could design the 3 point to not make contact with anything above it, ya know? Like I said before, it has hit a tool box and now a window. What's next?
I'd have to agree that CNH needs to spend a bit more time reviewing their designs and products. Maybe I could understand the open window issue, but if it was the top link that broke the glass, that is something CNH should have designed around.
I know they do miss little things - on my little sub DX24E, I dented in the rear fender with the top link once - wasn't paying attention, raised it up all the way - the link was retracted about as far as I could get it , and it crunched the fender good. Yes, it was partly my fault, but the CNH engineers should have done a better job with the design, since both the fender and the toplink were factory installed CNH equipment that I had not modified.
There are a number of other little things on my machine that cause me to question the overall abilities of CNH engineers, and wonder how many of them actually have spent any time on the machines they design. Maybe they do a better job with the bigger machines, and although I like my machine (it sure beats doing it by hand), when it comes time to upgrade, I'm going to have to give another brand a shot.
Of course, it seems that all of the manufacturers have more and more problems with each newer model, something that comes from trying to cut costs. Heck, Kubota put out a new BX to give all the competition an even bigger run for their money, and then they do something stupid like change the fender/platform to plastic. There's no way that the way I climb on and off my metal platform, it'd hold up at all if it was plastic.
