Well the new cylinders are on and the tractor is back up and running. I got back to clearing land over the weekend.
This was a costly error on my part and guaranteed I will never make that mistake again. When I was an apprentice elevator mechanic 30 years ago...my journeyman once said to me, "your knowledge of elevators is directly proportional to the amount of **** that you have blown up". I believe that there is a lot of truth in that statement.
If I was ever to lose another cylinder for whatever reason, I can't see myself purchasing from the dealer. When I originally phoned them for pricing...I wrote the price down that I was quoted. On Friday when I went to pick them up, they charged me considerably more. I protested and their excuse was that I had ordered it from one of their summer students and he must have quoted me the wrong price.....I argued that I didn't see how that should be my problem. It has left a really bad taste in my mouth.
