Broken axle

Just had the second axle stub break on my b7800 on saturday. Again, failure happened when driving it unloaded at slow speed, but over half the crack had already oxidized so who knows when it started. Didn't get a pic, but looks exactly like all the others on here. Headed to dealership today so we'll see what they say. Can't remember if this is the side I already replaced once or if this is the other one. Sure hope the replacement part is better.

Wish I had thought of the chain/wooden wedge thing to keep the good tire on the ground. Worked OK to drop the bucket and drive, but would have been a lot easier to get it on the trailer with at least a little help from the one front wheel!

Unless you have a lot of weight on the rear the tractor will just tip to the corner with the broken wheel and you still won't get any help from the remaining front wheel unless you have somehow devised a differential lock for the front end.When mine broke I had a Woods 42 inch mower on the back which is no where near enough to hold the rear down but I had thought to chain the broken axle up which is when I realized I needed dif lock on the front.
Hopefully your dealer can help you out,my local parts man is a jerk so I went through Messick's and they were unaware of this being a problem but very helpful in trying to research it.
