Sorry. Got wrong picture on the last post I made. Here are a couple of the welded spool. It seems to work so far. No leaks yet.

Jimmy;
I read your post on this forum, while searching for a supplier for replacement spools for a Dinoil Hydraulic valve body. I own a Machine shop here in Anderson, IN. A customer brought in to my shop the exact same Dinoil valve body, that you show in your posting. After learning there was no one offering replacement spools, I decided to devise a way to repair their spool without welding. I have drawings, and instructions on how to repair the spools, but don't know how to post them. It seams as though this is a constant problem, but can be easly fixed if you have access to a local machine shop. I will share them with anyone who has this problem. If you can scan them, you can post them.

I am curious how one can fix a worn spool and bore in a valve.

I would be interested in how you do this.

J. J., here is the drawing depicting the method I used to repair a Dinoil spool valve. It didn't take very long, and works very well. A lot less expensive than a new valve-body, which is all the dealer offered me.

Jim... If you can email me the files to me I can go ahead and attach them for you. My email address is jimmypowell@raker.com.

Thanks,

Jimmy

BTW the welded spool is still holding up pretty good.

I repaired a worn spool/housing back in the late 60's by having the spool built up with hard chrome and then grinding the spool lands to a slight oversize. (cylindrical grinder) Then honed the valve body for a slip fit on the spool. Probably wouldn't be cost effective given today's economy, however.
