Tractor
2001 Kubota L3010GST. 2005 Kubota L3430HSTC
Bought a newer tractor on Friday. Kubota L3430HST (34 hp) with factory cab that has heat, A/C and a stereo system. Put it to work refinishing top section of my driveway over the weekend. Huge improvement in comfort and ease of use over the older GST Kubota I have. Low hours, meticulously maintained and stored in a climate controlled building year round. Looks like a new rig.

After running a heated cab for snowblowing last winter, a cab is something I don't want to be without. Although my L3010 cab doesnt have AC so summers sucked.

Thats a fine looking, well cared for machine! I traded my trusty old L3430 HST for a MX5800 last spring. I owned the machine 12 years and put 900 hours on her without a hickup. I wish I could have kept it but I needed more HP and bigger FEL for the heavier work I do now. I sure miss some of the Grand L features missing on the MX.

In any case, good luck with your new friend!

Great looking tractor. I have a 3430 open station with 750 worry free hours. I notice you don't have quick attach. Neither do I. That's the one thing I would really like to have. I know it can be added, but the loader on mine, LA723, was modified mid production by Kubota which somewhat complicates the process.

Is the 3430 a Grand L? I've been googling but havent been able to find out.

I will probably get the pin on to SSQA adapter at some point.

It's pretty shocking, but Kubota has better pricing on the pin on adapters than the aftermarket suppliers.

Soldier415, indeed that is a very nice looking Grand L3430HSTC. When I traded my L5030HSTC with 1400 hours in on my GL5740HSTC, it sold before the dealer had time to prep it. You sure are lucky to have found such a nice tractor. k0ua converted his pin on to SSQA, so he might be able to tell how and cost. Enjoy your machine.

I'm assuming you are current or former military, if so thank you and all the others for your service.

Congrats, Soldier415. That looks like a great find. Cabs with heat and AC are going to make us all a bunch of softies ... and at 50-years-old, I'm perfectly fine with that.

Yeah, they had just taken it in on trade. It is perfect for my needs.

And yes, still serving. I'm a Sergeant First Class (E-7) in the Army National Guard. Thanks for letting me serve.

The dealership's trade offer was way too low on my 2001 L3010, so until it sells I have twins!

I'm surprised, our dealer loves trade ins as they are a quick turn over, good used ones are hard to come by.

They offered $7,500 for a 2001 L3010GST with heated sims cab, one winter old euro style studded ice chains custom fit to the tires, and pallet forks attachment for FEL. Tractor has 2,380 hours

Good grief, I was offered that much on a 2003 BX2200 with FEL and MMM. You'll surely be better off with a private party sale.

I have the package listed at $13k, and will probably end up getting $12k. Not necessarily in a rush to sell

Looks like R4's on one tractor and R1's on the other. Which one do you prefer and why?

I have a QA for a LA723 loader I need to get rid of. I bought my L3130 without QA, then bought qa pallet forks. Never modified my bucket for qa, I traded it pin on as I bought it.

The R4s are too wide for my uses. To extend the wheels out far enough to run chains for the winter it made it so the wheels were way wider than my snowblower. I have drop offs and ditches on each side of my steep driveway and had to hang half the tire off the edge of the road. No thanks. The plus side is that being that wide they don't rut up the rain soaked lawn.

I priced out a set of R1 wheels and tires for the L3010 to go narrower and it ended up being almost $3k all said and done. Thats when they mentioned they had just taken the L3430 in on trade. Made more sense to put the money into a newer and better tractor.

I like the R1s so far, but I had to drive out on the lawn to change implements and the R1s left ruts. Will see how it does once the ground dries out from the spring thaw.
