Some things to consider. How high are you really going to lift a load with your grapple. In my case - VERY SELDOM over 36" off the ground. Most grapples are rated at a lift height of 36". If you can keep the load at a low height - say 6" to 8" off the ground - the FEL system has MUCH greater lift capacities.
It is no real strain on my FEL system to lift 2500# to 2800# - IF I keep the load low. I move heavy rock and chunks of green pine tree trunk in that weight range all the time. I just keep the load LOW. Basically called - knuckle dragging. If I'm moving brush - weight makes little to no difference. Brush is very light.
Look at the weight lift charts for your FEL. You might be pleasantly surprised.
