Brush Grapple vs Root Rake Grapple

Some things to consider. How high are you really going to lift a load with your grapple. In my case - VERY SELDOM over 36" off the ground. Most grapples are rated at a lift height of 36". If you can keep the load at a low height - say 6" to 8" off the ground - the FEL system has MUCH greater lift capacities.

It is no real strain on my FEL system to lift 2500# to 2800# - IF I keep the load low. I move heavy rock and chunks of green pine tree trunk in that weight range all the time. I just keep the load LOW. Basically called - knuckle dragging. If I'm moving brush - weight makes little to no difference. Brush is very light.

Look at the weight lift charts for your FEL. You might be pleasantly surprised.

This is what I have. Went with the lighter "economy" version vs "heavy duty" due to the LS loader limitations & wanted payload capacity. Good for storm cleanup/logs/brush, not sure I'd want to try too deep root ripping. They also have a Heavy duty & super duty, & longer widths, but the 60" has worked fine for me.

I have the tomahawlk attachments version of that. 3/8 steel on my tc40 and have done deep root ripping removing 4in and smaller trees. It handles it well but I also have r4 tires so not the most aggressive thing.
