For areas being converted to lawn you can roto till, let it dry then rake. I had great luck doing this and was able to rake out all the roots. Almost none came back and what did died after the first couple months due to regularly mowing.

Well, I went against some of the feedback, and brush hogged about 60% of the area. There was briars, brush, various ivy... And all this in between tallll pine trees. I bundled up, chopped what I felt comfortable with and where I thought the least amount of it was, and then showered with dish soap (lol), and all has been good a few days later

I was back there chain sawing a few weeks ago and got it on my arms and neck, not pleasant. But this time all has been ok. I cut big chunks of the soup can size roots that are climbing trees, and then went and sprayed everything with round up. My goal is to keep spraying, and cut the brush back more, and continue to clean up the area.

I think it's going to be a long battle, but I will wine over this nasty nasty stuff!

to add a thought: mow it now! ground is frozen so little or no mud, brush is as thin as it will be so you can see the thick stumps and any objects you would rather not run over.. thats what i am doing now. I am reclaiming some overgrown areas of our farm, and in these areas the stickers are an absolute wall. right now i can really get a good look at the ground and put the hurt on them with the bushhog.

Can this be serious...or just another duck quacking? My grandson is autistic, I have never heard of this. Round-up is banned in Canada BTW

One thing I have done in my landscape when I have to pull it out by hand is use those shoulder length plastic gloves designed for birthing calves, and then duct tape them to my upper arms. Then use rubber gloves over them.

After I finish pulling out the poison ivy and spraying the roots, I wash the rubber gloves carefully in mineral spirits following by a final cleaning with warm water mixed with Dawn detergent.

Accidental? Maybe, but she is the first to link the two I believe- so this is new. She presents her information coherently. My wife's nephew has autism.
Look at the incidence increase of autism- CDC says it is now 1 in 68. In 1984 it was one in 10,000. Something is messed up.

There is a huge debate in the medical community about those figures regarding autism. At least part and maybe all of the reason for the increase in autism has to do with two factors that are not the least environmental. Firstly, many newer, more mild forms of autism are known to exist today. These milder forms have always existed but they were not until recently counted as autism. Secondly, screening for autism has dramatically improved, thus increasing the numbers without actually increasing the real rates of autism. There also exist groups that do blame other environmental factors, but the factors are so numerous and varied that they are difficult to back up with firm, unbiased evidence that exists in sample sizes that are statistically significant. These environmental factors may be real, but proving them is extremely difficult.

Very reasonably presented. Thanks for posting.
I've read that statins are now causing Alzheimer's, then in looking a little more closely it looks like we are just living longer, possibly due to statins, and increased Alzheimer's is just showing up with advanced age.
