Quick update:
The project was completed. I used a Stihl FS560 brush cutter and a couple chain saws ( Makita 20" and my DeWalt 60v electric saw).
At the end of the day I went this way because the ground was steep, with a creek at the bottom side. Too much concern of sticking the machine in the mud.
Overall, it went well. Excellent exercise and along the way, I knew I made the right decision on choosing "hand to hand combat" with the brush over the ground damaging machinery.
