My float on my bucket doesn't work. The tractor did get flipped on it's back and the hydraulic oil was changed. Any ideas?

Give us more info...does the FEL lever move into the float position and stay there? If the FEL is raised and you put it in float, what happens?

Welcome to TBN:D

On the end of the valve is a "cup" that contains the balls and springs that make the stick stay forward in the float "detent". On the Kubota valves they are famous for getting water in them and rusting up not allowing the joystick to go into float. There are quite a few posts about this...filling the cap with grease and drilling a drain whole somewhere seems to be the solution.

Was rhere any type of damage to the joy stick?

Fel lever does not stay in float position. The lever suffered no damage in the rollover but I like the idea of checking the end cap thanks.

Can somebody explain float to me? Does the B seies have this feature? If its what I think it is it would be pretty handy,:)

Float (as I know it) releases any hydraulic pressure from the bucket so that there is no down (or up) pressure. The weight of the bucket lays on the ground with it's own weight. Good for smoothing out the ground.

vtras, got photos of the roll over??? Not that they will help answer your question... just think it would be cool to see :) You say that "does not stay in float position" Does it go into float if you hold it there?

Float means the loader arm cylinders no longer exert force up or down, the entire assembly just floats over the ground contour under it's own weight. It's a function of the loader, not the tractor, but if you have a kubota loader on a B, then I think they all have float. My B2710 does.

just curious...is the joystick supposed to "remain" raised in the float position...my bucket seems to float fine...but...after the joystick is moved to the float position and the bucket settles the joystick returns to the center (nominal) position...

my question is...do most joysticks remain (raised) in the float position? or (as mine seems to do) returns to the canter even though the bucket stays in float mode?

The float is a detent position, and should stay there until you do something different. When it appears to come back to neutral, are you sure that you are still in float. Travel over some uneven ground and see if the bucket follows the contour.

I haven't intentionally used my float in years but when I first got it the float would also level the bucket for loading purposes too.

You sure you're pushing the lever all the way forward?...there is some resistance to overcome before the float engages.

My 3130 also floats if you hit the joystick hard right. It might not be float but it gives it a controlled dump. It curls the bucket down with precision. I found that one by accident. Anyone else try this with a different model Kubota?

It's the regenerative function on Kubota tractors-the first movement to the right is full dump.Move past the detent to get to controlled dump-I don't believe it is float however.Kenny V has commented on this.Good Luck.

Yes it's the same on my BX23 and it is aggravating to have it designed that way. No-one has yet explained why the precision/power part of the loader dump is at the end of the throw instead of the beginning. The regen part of the dump is at the beginning of the throw and makes it dump faster. Would it not make more sense to put it at the end to make it dump faster if you push it all the way? It also plays havoc when plumbing accessories to the loader dump circuit.

Yeah, I agree 100%. Just another Kubota Kwirk like have the split breaks on the same side as the hydro pedal:confused:

JD put's it at the end of the throw with a mechanical lockout so when you have a snowblower, plow, or grapple plumbed in it does not affect the function.
